So, I’ll ask: why didn’t you just de~pin the speaker wires in the Molex connector in each door and replace the wiring? I‘m assuming that you just wanted a larger gauge wire for each driver.
Yes, that’s correct. I didn’t trust myself to try and de-pin the speaker wires in the Molex connector. Working between the door was a tight space and if I had screwed something up, it would have been aggravation X10 to try and work in that space and make a proper repair.

I understand the feeling. We’ve all been there at some point.

I was able to run new wire for both the tweeter and mid-bass woofers in the doors. The way I accomplished this for the doors was, I cut off the factory connectors from the A-pillar tweeter harness and soldered larger gauge wire to it, since the tweeters and mid-bass woofers are wired in parallel. Well, last weekend I disconnected the speaker plug from the factory amp and plugged the mid-bass speaker wires into my aftermarket amp and the sound was horrible. Needless to say, I immediately reversed what I had done and put the mid-bass speakers back on my factory amp again (for now) and the stereo sounds great again. I had even reached out to B&O for technical help on how best to accomplish this and they told me to contact my local Ford dealership. I didn’t even bother doing that because I knew that Ford couldn’t know more than the company who designed the system. SMH at B&O.

You mean the stock midrange and tweeter are run in parallel, correct?

All you need to get is a idatalink DSR1 and the appropriate harness to bypass all that B&O crap.
For 2018 this is the HRN-AR-FO3 harness (same as for the shaker premium setup) and 2019 onwards the HRN-AR-FO2 harness (same as for all the SONY branded systems, see pattern here?).
Then you can use the DSR1 as a DSP with additional amplifiers or just a preamp and use your own DSP and amplifiers of choice.
The harnesses tie in the factory speaker wires, too. So all you have to do is rewire the tweeter.
