I am basically a total newbie when it comes to car audio and do not think i could ever install anything on my own. I have the base system. My goal is to just have a bit more bass and to save some $$$. Budget is around 200, Please dont judge.

current option im considering is I already have a 10" bazooka tube(i know they are horrible but its good enough for me and I already have one lying around and i like the option of easy removal. I bought it and installed it myself in a cruze because it was easy but no idea how to do it for the mustang). To get this installed by someone else will cost me 150$

Will I be able to get a similar effect or even better sound + bass if I were to instead purchase a new set of door speakers or the ones in the back seat. I wont be installing them myself but I am assuming they are cheaper to install and less labor intensive?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Well, I have had some experience with the bazooka tube as I currently have one in my car. I am already passed the stage of Boom Boom stereos so I was just looking for a little more bass. To be honest, it has do it for me. Now, everyone has a different opinion in regards to sound so your question will get you different answers by different people. Again, we are all different. I also had a bazooka tube in my last car as and I also changed the stock speakers. I certainly made a huge difference to me. At some point, I will change the stock speakers. Normally, I buy my speakers from Crutchfield so I always wait until they have everything I need to change the speakers without having to cut up anything. Good luck!

Bazookas suck....
If you want a nice improvement in sound dump the factory speakers and
stab in some 6,5" speakers like a simple kicker or infinity co ax,low
wattage models work best. for about 100 bucks or so you would be set..adding a sub
would be fine too but def dont get a bass tube, get a small 10" w 300 watts min. .

I do these often on friends cars, works well ..Keep in mind subs add weight to your car
and will slow you down in any sort of racing.

I swapped out the rear deck speakers for JBL GTO 629s. $60. Added a Rockford Fosgate P 300 10 inch 300 watt self powered sub woofer. $165. Sounds great.
I recommend go to a shop and price out a decent pair of 6.5 inch speakers with installation and find out how much extra they would charge to install your bazooka. See how it sounds. If the bazooka is weak, shop for a new kicker. The wiring would already be there so swapping out one kicker for another should not be to hard
By the way went with the 6.5 inch JBLS because of higher sensitivity gives more volume from the same signal. They also came with brackets that fit the back deck mounting holes perfectly.

I have not read so much YUCK in me entire life .. YUCK YUCK and some more YUCK ..

Get Quality Speakers and then you will have Quality in yer doors and in yer heads ....

http://madisoundspeakerstore.com

Look up the Silver Flutes .. then Look up a decent set of mids to add to the existing Mids .. then look up a decent set of Tweeters .. Installation is necessary so don't be shy and get your hands wet by doing your own installation work ..you will need an upholstery and trim tool set . Plastic of course .

I've been looking for a plug-n-play amp/speaker upgrade solution for the 9 speaker Shaker (2015) system. I don't want to change the head unit, because I don't want to lose the integration and functionality built in. However, I did find this recently:

https://www.infotainment.com/products/ford-aftermarket-amplifier-audio-harness?variant=36163778119

Has anyone used this? Pros? Cons? Apparently, it comes with a unit that will zero out the factory processing for preamp/processor RCAs.

You should look at the Rockford Fosgate/iDatalink DSR1 DSP instead.
As far as I know, no one makes a plug-and-play speaker solution for the 9 and 12-speaker systems. However, Focal has plug-and-play systems for the base 6-speaker system: https://www.focal-inside.com/ford/en/ford-mustang-vi-2015-2020-2/
