Just swapped mine, here are the results from factory:

1 .30
2 .31
3 .31
4 .29

there was some carbon build-up on the threads, stock tune must be running rich.

There is going to be no advantage to indexing the plugs on the factory engine. The piston to valve clearance is massive and you aren't going to see or have any noticeable gains. High compression motors are were I would spend time indexing.

However to answer your question you should line the electrode perpendicular to the valves. So on these engines you would want to face the open end of the electrode towards the front of the engine.

You listed the gap 0.027-0.028 but Spark Plugs on your link are 0.044"
