I ordered one from the ford dealer, they said there isn't one available now but will be around September. She said when it comes in she'll call me.

Actually, from Thurso to Portsmouth UK is 708 miles.
Thank you, lol.

I could understand wanting to take a spare if you're travelling from Houston to San Antonio, but short of a side wall puncture, the repair kit is more than sufficient to get you there.

I cant see spending 4-500 dollars on a rim and tire that you cannot secure or may never need. Maybe runflats are a better option for them.

Now, I do keep a spare 37x12.50 in the bed of my truck, but I generally take it to places where it cannot be easily rescued.

Wish I had a spare

Cut the apex to close (Damn this car is wide in the rear). :headbonk:
AAA only tows 7 miles for free.

Nobody had the Pirelli P Zero in stock.:frusty:

Luckily Tire Rack had it on clearance for $193 plus shipping. :clap2:

Luckily I have a spare car to drive. :clap2:

p.s. that's a screwdriver in the gash, it is for display purposes only. The side wall is paper thin. It was the right rear tire

This may not work if the wheels are staggered on the PP
Yep I was already corrected.[emoji4] You need a spacer on the front to use the rear wheel. Not sure how thick though.

I have AAA platinum. They can put it on a flatbed if it gets a flat.
Wonderful..if you have cell coverage and can call AAA. For those of us who live outside cell areas, off the interstates, WE NEED A SPARE! In winter with -30 temps and a snow storm, no spare + no cell coverage= dead. The same applies to desert areas. This is a serious issue and Ford (and the other car companies) needs to address it, before some lawyer(s) do it for them.

And, yes, I drive it all year, which is why I bought the EcoBoost with the 18" wheels (tire chains fit) and the spare tire kit.

No, I'm being quite serious. Why would you tow it from north to south when there are at least one to two "tyre" shops in every village/city. I've been to the UK (I work globally), and it's a good bit more densely populated than the US. you don't get 100-200 mile stretches of highway where there's absolutely nothing.

A tow truck fee to the garage from the highway side would be fairly cheap. Even when you're out in the sticks.

I actually lived there for three years and I wouldn't want to drive anywhere without a spare regardless of how many tire shops are around. And your comment disregards that not all tire shops may carry the particular brand or size of tire the OP may require. Nor did you consider that he could find himself requiring a spare in a location or time that doesn't permit fast or convenient access to a tow truck.

So basically, you talked down to the OP and assumed your opinion makes your right and then further disrespected him by assuming he should do what you would do. Enough said...

The Air Compressor w/ the fix a flat crap in it is garbage... if you can't bought yet, I'd recommend you deal on a spare tire kit for your vehicle, Triple A or not...

Not sure why you need the spare with run flats. You can drive the car with no air in the tire...

To each his own, but there simply isn't a need for one unless you have a massive failure. A simple nail in the tire is easily fixed with the supplied compressor and plug kit.

And one thing that everyone has seemed to over look... You'll need a jack and lug wrench as well. So, not only will you have an unsecured full size spare in the trunk, you will also have a nice little chunk of steel floating around as well. I really hope that rear seat can contain all of that in the event of a head on collision.

If I offended the OP, I apologize.
