Hello folks,
i currently have the stock pirelli`s on my GT, since they suck, i felt like changing them to a different tire setup. While im at it, i might as well think about bumping the size of the tires upwards.
The Problem with this is just that i dont have a clue as to the benefit of bigger tires, in my mind it should leed to an improved traction, but this is just my way of thinking.
Since most of you already have tried out different sizes, i wanted to ask your advice in this matter.
My current Setup is: 265/35/20 Pirelli on all four wheels and with 20" foundry wheels (i know they are heavy, but i love the look!)
Now regarding my questions:
1. Is it advisable to do a different setup front to back? Like 265 in the front and 285 or similar in the back? And what would the benefit be?
2. How big should one go? 285/35 or more?
3. How does the steering and the traction differ with bigger tires? especially in the corners?
If you happen to have 20" foundry wheels with bigger tires, i would love to see your look! Please post pics and tell me about your experience with this!
thanks a lot!
