As I'm sure many know, that for A10's with no drive modes like Sport or Sport+, Track, etc, the redline is reduced in 6th gear to ~6900 rpm (fuel/ignition cut-off). I believe drive mode cars don't have this issue, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Question: Does anyone know if there is a solution to this issue through the Ford Dealer? I asked my local dealer and they have no experience in this area. Of course I could have an aftermarket tuner chase this out, but clearly there are implications with doing this.

Just wondering if there is a Service Bulletin or Advisory or Factory mod that is available? Or if someone that has purchased the Ford Performance cold air kit for the 18' & up and that ended up fixing the issue for non-drive mode cars. I posted this question to thread on the Ford perf kit, but figured might be better to include it here in the Trans section.

Thanks for the time and assistance. Cheers.

I have drive modes and even using manual shifting I cannot go to redline in 6th. Hopefully someone has an answer for you.

I don’t know how the ratios work out, but is it the speed limiter that’s kicking in and not a rev limiter ?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I assume that when you use Track mode and let it shift on its own that it will still take 7th at ~6800-6900 rpm, Correct?

I wonder how these shops are dyno testing 2018 & up cars, stock ... Must be in 5th gear. Maybe I need to look through the dyno section for comments to confirm.

@WD Pro .... its not vehicle speed. Not sure whether the ECU or TCU for that matter has a tranny shaft speed limit that is triggered but in any event, when you reach ~6900 rpm in 6th which is 119-126 mph depending on tire size, the engine will cut-off just like it does at 7500 rpm in the lower gears.

Correct, no matter which mode and regardless of if I let the computer shift or I try to shift myself, cannot get past the 6800 rpm limiter in 6th. The car will automatically shift into 7th if I am not in manual mode regardless of which mode I am in (Sport, Sport +, Track, Drag, etc)

I believe the "WOT shift map" in the transmission programming has primary control for shifting at WOT. The FRPP tune does not change this map on a 2020 Mustang GT 10R80 with drive modes. Here's a snapshot of the table from the FRPP tune:
