Solution for closing the trunk?

I ended up getting the bottom 2" of the (black portion) trunk door wrapped in a clear plastic. For me it was to avoid scratching it.

I shut mine by the painted trunklid part. I don't touch the center panel. Reach up to right or left and shut.

i just always keep microfiber rags in my trunk with the car cover.

Is there, or has anyone came up with a solution for closing the truck without having to touch the trunk? I was thinking of trying to install a pull tab into one of the clips for the truck lid liner. However, access doesn't seem easy even when taking off the middle black section. The finger prints on the paint, or black section are driving me nuts.

I think the Microfiber idea would work, or some kind of cloth or you could plastidip the bottom edge in black and that might work. Actually that might look pretty cool as well.

Trunk pull loop. Common feature on other cars, don't know why Ford didn't think about it.

Yep, so far so good. My very scientific method of yanking on it a lot yielded no breaking or budging. I'll hang a backpack filled with bricks or something off it tonight and check, but I specifically choose that particular (pricey!) plastic rivet because its a very tight fit.

You could always distribute the load by putting another pool loop on the other side, then using both at the same time.

I have a black GT and this is something I'm always avoiding lol. I grab the black connecter on the underside of the truck and finish off pushing down with my shirt. Hope that helps.

thanks to all for this idea. I bought the plastic clip today (shown in a pic above) at Autozone, its called a GM body retainer, came in a 2 pack, part number C-50, 461030AA. About 4 bux for 2 of them. Used a 1" nylon strap I had at home. Cut it short enough to easily grab the loop, but the loop is not long enough to get pinched between the trunk and the rubber trunk seal. Great mod.

Finger prints don't show up on my trunk panel since I replaced the factory gloss black with ingot silver.
