The black wheel "trend" (it's gone on too long to really be considered the fad it really is) is played out, and I can't wait for it to go away.
The statement is pretty contradictory. Being that it’s gone on for so long, you are correct in that it is likely not a fad and it’s probably here to stay for a while.

I felt the same way until I saw silver PP wheels. No offense to anyone with silver PP wheels, but the design "works" best black. I think there's way too many spokes and the black helps blend it all in.
Seriously? PP1 with the 647 wheel option.

I dont understand how this solid black wheel thing has become so popular. I think black wheels with a silver lip look good, but solid black dont like it. And that is what my 2021 came with as well. I dont like that you cant really make out the tire from the wheel. Yea up close they are ok but it just looks diry. Does anyone agree with me?

They changed the attitude of my car. Love those black wells.

Funny...I didn't think this "black wheel" debate was raging until I noticed the same debate on one of my Corvette forums. Comments parallel those on this forum. Now for me...I'm not a fan but respect the owners choice to make their Mustang his/her own. When I ordered my GT convertible with the PP1 package, I was able to add the 19" Luster Nickel plated aluminum wheels before Ford removed the option.

I love those wheels, I wish they had been a PP option back in '15.

I don't like black wheels because every SUV, truck, and minivan has them these days, they're way over played imo.
What is your wheel/tire setup? I really like it.

these are actually darker in person…Grigio Corsa
Racetrack Grey. If the name doesn’t make them quicker, the
shedding of 13lbs does…lol

Agree with the op - black wheels don't look good on a white car.

. I'm a huge fan of the machined face wheels on my CS. Actually saw an ad for a car with the same wheels I have on the same car but they were painted black. They didn't look near as good as the machined face.
Very nice looking CS! Agree wholeheartedly about machined accents. I got the black accent package on my 20 GT Convertible just to get the style wheels it comes with. I preferred them over the other options Ford gave us for 2020. They look like CS wheels with two extra spokes but without the machining. I've been wondering if I can take them to a machine shop and have them cut CS style... It just needs a little something.

I do agree with the OP that black wheels will be a fad that fades eventually. I'm not a huge fan of black wheels in general. I prefer the old school 90's machined look, or an "Eleanor" style: dark center, bright lip.

My '21 GT came with the black accent package, and by extension had black wheels. I think they look pretty good. I'm jonesing for a set of RTR tech 7's in charcoal. Probably wouldn't make that much of a difference.

LMFAO!! Okay, my Lexus Vossen’s were half this - just tried to build a set for the Mustang :cwl:
Ouch! Not happening! That’s almost 25% of what I paid for entire the car brand new LOL!

You could go carbon fiber for that amount.

I like my PP1 black wheels because it makes the Ruby Red pop. They also don't show brake dust much. Wheels are very much a personal opinion and I enjoy seeing other's wheel preferences.
