I have no idea what these dimpled shafts are. No idea if I even have one! But my throttle body performs really well!
You’d definitely know it if you had them. They look like golf ball dimples on the throttle blade shaft.

Do you know the function of these golf ball dimples? I wasn't aware of this!

Mike from Soler Engineering explained their purpose in the other thread and why some have them and others don't.

Do you know the function of these golf ball dimples? I wasn't aware of this!

The dimples are for airflow management. They create vortices that help create a boundary layer around the shaft helping the air to remain attached and flow over more smoothly. The most common application are gold ball dimples where the pattern and density of the dimples make the ball more aerodynamic allowing the designers to dial in specific characteristics like greater distance or slice/hook management.

It’s all about differential equations and solving boundary layer problems and airflow.

What GTthree50 said.

Mike at Soler did tell me that they could dimple the factory blade shaft, but it would be expensive to do, so I left it alone.
Saw that on the other thread so now all of us OCD people can rest easy. Minimal benefit to probably a couple hundred extra if not more $$ in machine work. Mine has shipped and will update as others have done once installed. Will do some rev match downshifting and 1st through 4th pulls south of the border

Looking to give one a try on my 20 GT PP2 with the FP power pack 2 upgrade it uses a GT-350 throttle body.

I've ordered one. I've never been a fan of tip-in throttle response in the GT350. The Lund tune helped, and perhaps this will help more.
