Imagine all the R's out there that don't see these forums. Mine were in also. Thanks to Donson I was aware of it and had them removed immediately. But it just pisses me off. I'm not going to lie I paid a substantial ADM to the dealer only to be tossed the keys of a new car that they had to remove some stickers and wash basically. If I ran my business like the ford dealer I would not have a business very long.

So is a recalibration required or not.

How do the rear shocks come off. Two piece snap together or what?

With the rear hock getting hammered in a way it was not designed, I wonder if there will be a premature structural failure?

So if a re cal is required, is any dealer of my choice responsible to do it. I'm not about to take this thing back to pheonix and back to central coast CA for that

It would be best to remove the spacers, lift the car, allow the wheels to fully suspend in air and then recalibrate.

The shock will be fine... You do not have to remove the shock.

How does it release??
Just reach in and pull them out... They're only secured by compression. If you jack up each rear quarter, or put the car on a lift that allows the wheels to suspend, remove the wheels and reach in and pull the spacers out. It's just That simple...

Sorry, on the lift, wheels off the road, no load on suspension
I think their is a lot of confusion on the calibration of the system as well. The TSB article says to perform the calibration with the wheels off the ground. The actual calibration software says for the vehicle to be on level ground. I was watching as my dealer was about to calibrate and brought that discrepancy to their attention (wish I had taken pic of the software warning). They called Ford Performance and FP said to perform the calibration ON THE GROUND with nothing in the vehicle. So, my car was calibrated sitting on all four wheels....

Has anyone contacted FordService about these multiple cases? Still feel that running the rear transport block in has to cause some damage. The upper shock mounts fail on regular Mustangs if you bounce it off a curb during a track day, it can't be good using the top of the shock and the shock mount as a hard bump stop. The intention is to jack the car up to clear for transport. Driving around on the street hitting bumps with no travel has to be detrimental to the shock.

I wonder how many of these same people asked/demanded that the dealer not touch their car prior to taking delivery because they were concerned someone at the dealer might "mess it up"?

That's what y'all paid the extra $5000-$10000 ADM for. Sad that it's marketed and sold as a halo car with special race car features, but the dealers turn them over to customers like they a buying a $15000 Fiesta. I feel for you guys. Great heads up from the OP

A good dealer will treat the $15K vehicle the same way as the $60K vehicle. Sticker price of a car should not dictate service level.

What makes the calibration off from ford to the dealership, or isn't this calibration done before its shipped? As i understand it, if the car gets calibrated before shipment and then gets the spacers put in before it gets hauled, after it reaches its destination, all that would need done is to pull the spacers out.

Ford shouldnt rely on the dealer to do all this. Don't they realize how incompetent the dealerships are.
