I like to disassemble things.
That would solve the emissions problem. But I think it would still fail Ca's inspection due to being non-stock.

I'd rebuild it personally. Sure as a complete long block from Ford it's not cheap, but are the parts individually that much more than a 5.0? Putting a CPC motor in these cars would be like taking the soul out of them...no thanks.

also have to change ECMā€˜s to change the firing order from flat plane to cross plane cranks. If the block and heads are salvageable, Iā€™d rebuild the voodoo with upgraded rods, pistons, oil system and valve train.

f thatā€™s the case I might want to build my next motor for my car with a flat plane crank.
100% Do-able. gt350 crank, cams and move some wires.

No, just have to re-pin the injectors and coils.
The ECU has to know the firing order. If it detects a misfire or a knock sensor event, it has to know which cylinder is which. There's a table in the ECU for that, and it has to be reprogrammed.

I guess my point is reliability can you build that in to a Voodoo ir is it inherently flawed?

Of course you can build one for reliability, just using quality parts instead of cheaper quality that the bean counters force on manufacturing after engineering comes up with a good design.
