If road racing the aluminator. If drag racing the Predator.

Street only, toss up.

I'd probably do a pre 2017 version Coyote build with some improved parts in it. I'm not a big fan of the PTWA bores. I prefer the steel sleeves. There's no reason you can't make similar power to a GT350 with the right build. You might be a little under, but I could accept that to save money and keep reliability.

The difference between 5 liters and 5.2 liters is about 4 percent. 5.2 is mostly marketing, not substance. You don't NEED the extra 4 % displacement to make good power.

Edit: but keep in mind I'm cheap. If I weren't cheap I'd probably rebuild the Voodoo. I absolutely love the character of the Voodoo. The aluminator would be my second choice, and I'd use the Voodoo intake on it rather than swap hoods.

26K for a crate motor is effing nuts.
Well... if a GT350 engine goes unexpectedly after the 5/60 Powertrain or Ford ESP expires, the owner better have deep pockets for the repair cost - because that's going to be just as nuts.

These may be just another "Mustang", but the S550 Shelby's aren't cheap toys when it comes to the engine, so if you're going to play, you have to have $$$ to pay. . .

Would it not be more cost-effective to just rebuild the 5.2 voodoo?

That would depend on the type of failure... if you're talking rebuild just due to normal use, it's been maintained, has execessive miles, and there are no issues with the block cylinders - sure.

If you're taking about a ventilated block or one that dropped a valve, or had sone other type of catastrophic loss - again, if out of Warranty period via 5/60 Powertrain or a Ford ESP - then you're still talking big $$$ for a repair (engine replacement).

I thought the Aluminator was NA so would you need to switch hoods? Unfortunately not street legal anyway for those who don't track their GT350.
If the Predator will work NA that would be a nice option that also ?wouldn't need a hood swap, but obviously not FPC.
If the car was otherwise in great condition and well cared for I don't see great technological improvements over the current GT350 ride so 26K for a "new" GT350 as opposed to 70K plus for some kind of replacement if a swap was necessary might not be that out of line once out of warranty. At least that is how I've looked at it.

The aluminator is not in any DOT or EPA approved platform. That being said, long as you plug it into an OBDII reader like most states do and the C02 and NOX levels are within limits I don’t see why it can’t pass. But some states do a visual check too, and it won’t pass that.

As long as you run the factory cats I don't see having any problem except for Ca.

If I lived there I'd just use the GT350 IM and who would be the wiser?

That would solve the emissions problem. But I think it would still fail Ca's inspection due to being non-stock.
