How does the A10 ratio in 10th compare to 6th in the MT? I drive mostly highway on my commute at either 60 or 80. Wondering what the RPMs will be at those speeds.

Not much difference at all.

0.63:1 for the A10
0.62:1 for the M6

RPMs for 60 - 80 mph in top gear should roughly fall in the 1750 - 2250 range with 3.55:1 axle gearing for both. That's an average; they'll probably range a few rpm higher - 20 or so - with 255/40-19 or 265/35-20 tires, an a similarly few rpm lower with 275/40-19's.

I am there with you. The chart seems off.
Wouldn't it all depend on the set up for the chart, what size tires were run? gear ratio? etc.... I assume chart was done with whatever set up the fuel economy is rated with.

Assuming 751 tire revs per mile from Tire Rack specs for the PP Michelin 275/40x19's:

Manual GT PP: 2000 rpm in 6th equals 69.1 mph calculated
Automatic (10A) GT PP: 2000 rpm in 10th equals 71.4 mph calculated

Rolling resistance of the particular tire model and how you drive will have more influence on fuel mileage than that amount of gearing difference in my opinion.

You can adjust for different gearing and tire revs per mile using basic arithmetic or find an online gearing comparison calculator.

Or haven't enough been purchased to date yet?
I've only put 100 miles on the Mustang A10, but compared with driving my Raptor A10 for a year, I can definitely say the Mustang is silky smooth shifting vs. the choppy shift/gear-skips of the Raptor.

That may be the result of pairing the A10 with a V8 vs. an A10 on an EcoBoost.

I'm not loving the EcoBoost Raptor's shifting now; spoiled by the Mustang.

Auto '18 GT's are scarcer than hen's teeth where I live ...

Within a 40 mile radius, there's 20 sticks and just 4 autos.

Eliminate verts, and you have 19 sticks and only 2 autos.

I have to admit the A10 is growing on me after more driving and experimenting. just shifting into S mode and not using the paddles really wakes the car up. it's like it's a whole different car compared to driving in D. it's the low speed around town driving in D mode that is lackluster. the trans makes the car feel sluggish and indecisive.

I was supposed to look at the only '18 GT 10R80 in my area, a base model. But I decided against it, just can't see going from a Premium to a base model. Got a great deal on my car, will have to pay up to get into an '18 Premium 10R80.

That was my problem too.

When I was shopping I had a trade, so the only thing to negotiate was my trade value since I was pretty much set at the x-plan pricing minus rebates.

I had set a number for my trade and went dealer to dealer and told them the first one to give me what I asking was going to sell me a car. If not I was going to sell it private party and shop an all cash deal this summer.

I ended up making a deal at the 4th dealer I stopped at and the only mustang in the area I was interested in was 18miles away, the dealer that had it was unwilling to trade with my dealer because I had already talked to the sales manager there. Apparently he thought that since they had the only one in the state that I wanted he would have the upper hand. The place I bought it from had to go 250miles away in another state to get the next closest one. They still honored my original deal after a bunch more back and forth.

In the end it worked out and I got my car with 250miles on the ODO.

The amazing thing is I had bought Jeep I traded in at another Ford dealer 6 weeks earlier and still got almost 20% more then I paid for it.

Wow, I think I would've given up long before that. lol

I still don't know if I'm willing to settle on a base model to keep my payments the same, or just keep my car and forget it.
