I get all my drag racing advice from their videos. Dudes been racing for a year. And already broke the car twice.
And neither time was track related.

You just enjoy being an asshole it seems. Sad.

Message me if you ever need help with that CAI install. I’ll be glad to walk you thru it. And I won’t beg you to hit like. Or subscribe. Nor will I ask for donations. Now does that sound like an asshole?

My whole jobs requires me to be on speakerphone while driving to clients. Many do. It's why Bluetooth exists. Without it I'd be driving in a communication black hole for hours. That wouldn't be god for me, my team, or my clients.
I've been a road warrior all my life......tell this to your team members surviving spouse when the day comes and then tell the spouse or their kids you & your employer required it! Let's see what Johnny Cochran does with that one.
You work for and at a company who has little regard for your safety.

I've never met a contractor or consultant that isn't always on the phone. If your driving 3+hrs in a black hole from both your team and clients your missing out on what could be valuable info that could mean your job or at least your client.

If you can't talk to a speaker while driving, you shouldn't be driving. You also shouldn't be using the radio or drive with a passenger. Or do you insist your passenger sits next to you silent at all times?

A lot to unpack here...

First of all it sucks that he got stranded so far away from home. None of us on this forum would have reacted favorably to having road debris rip our transmissions apart and being stuck hours from home. Logistically that is an issue for many reasons namely if they have to replace the trans or parts that Ford doesn't have at the ready.

I'm not big on the YouTube community but I don't begrudge them for doing it. I watch videos from time to time but a lot of people now are all about YT and IG. The way I see it is if people subscribe and watch and are entertained then hell good for them. We all have our things we like that others don't.

I watched most of the vid and then skipped through the rest of it. I also got the impression that he was taking a financial hit that he couldn't afford. A few times I cringed when he mentioned donations people were sending in. But I don't know the specifics around his situation. I do know that a lot of those YTers who have large followings have sponsorship deals with parts companies so they get a lot of their mods free for the advertising and exposure.

I just can't crush the guy for having a shitty experience that we all would be none too happy about.

I thought he wrecked it? Running over road debris is not wrecking a car. Just minor damage. Could not watch the whole video. Carry on.

Stang mode is even worse with his BS
10 sec Mustang.. His car ran 10.99 and his screaming 10 sec car on. all his videos. car only ran 10.99 Once YET his still screaming 10 sec mustang on all his videos..Back on topic Z13 puts all different stuff on his car and then asks for donations to get home? if theres no money for mods then dont do it. Any ways what happend to him really sucks
I'm going to defend Zander here, I used to be a YouTuber, and used to be in a relationship with a super super successful one as well. So, I kind of get the lifestyle.

Where, our cars are our hobbies, they are also used for business on content creation. It's a way to do something you love, provide entertainment, and get paid for it. Zander is in a spot right now, where his expenses are probably outweighing his income with it. Once you get around 50-100k subscribers and consistent viewing, it starts to pool in.

Mythbusters did an episode on distracted driving and I want to remember they proved even talking on speakerphone or Bluetooth lowers your driving attention span. Your comment made me remember that. You do you and talk all you want, just don't rear end me when traffic slows us all down. Deal? Deal lol.

As far as Z13 and Stangmode....guilty, I watch their videos but I scrub past a lot of the drama and bate talk. Hilarious to me that people will complain about something free they watch. Who's making you watch it? If you don't like it, turn it off and push on. As far as install videos go, CJPony is the one I go to most or I do this archaic thing called reading.

I don't watch videos with commercials. I just skip to the next one.

Also my understanding is that the truck was in the lane next to him.
1. Listen at the 3:15 mark. He was in the left lane, behind a semi.

2. Speaker phone isn't too bad, but you're still more focused on the call instead of your driving. It's why I don't answer the phone when I'm driving, much less text.

No one you plow into because you're not paying attention is going care about you, your team or your clients. I have tons of clients, they don't have my phone number, they call my office if they need me. I'd say it's your call, but it effects other people on the road.

Have to agree with @Schwerein here.

I have no problem with someone being opposed to hands free phone calls if they are at least as opposed to talking to a passenger. So far I haven't run across anyone advocating laws against anyone in a car speaking.

Regarding communications with a driver, hands free texting is the safest, followed by hands free phone calls, followed by talking to a passenger. None require the use of hands or eyes although talking to a passenger often involves use of eyes. So other than looking at passengers, the risks all boil down to how much brain power they take away from driving.

Lets look at an example that demonstrates the amount of brainpower each (texting, phone conversation, passenger conversation) requires.

  1. Your SO siting next to you asks if what ze was wearing last night made hir look fat. You not only have to carefully choose your words, you have to do it without tell-tale delays or nostril flaring or sweating or any flight/fight firmware kicking in. You don't even notice the oncoming semi drifting into your lane.

  2. Your SO calls to ask the same question. The parts of your brain dedicated to nostril and sweat control are freed up to notice the semi and allow you to slow down, pull to the right and honk your horn. The horn honking gives cover for any perceived delay in your response to the question.

  3. Your SO texts the same question. You take your time to formulate a response using only time when the road is straight and dry with no other vehicles in sight. The speech to text software launders any nervousness in your voice. Life is good and safe.

You don't have to go to Mythbusters, there have been real scientific papers on the subject. There is little difference in performance hands free or holding the handset (assuming you're not in a manual). Talking to people on the phone engages a different part of the brain, associated with imagination (prefrontal cortex). It's different than talking to the person in the car. If you pay attention to yourself you will probably notice this. Even a short conversation results in a little bit of that feeling of lost time. I restrict myself to short conversations in fairly safe areas (straight roads, little traffic).

For the road warriors out there, how many times have you ended up someplace and not really remembered how you got there, or had to stop talking for a minute so you could make a turn or take an exit? You stopped talking for a minute because the human brain actually can't multi-task cognitave tasks, only task swap. You can multi-task mechanical tasks (walking while chewing gum) which is what keeps you in your lane, but if you need to think about anything you kind of need to stop thinking about the other thing.

Here's an article. The link to the University of Utah study is broken so I can't get a link to the original study.

While everyone is entitled to their opinions, it is plainly evident from responses in this thread where Mustang owners get a bad reputation.

I can only hope that the forum warriors do not truly interact with normal society in the way they do when posting replies on here.

As far as Zander13 goes everyone seems to say he's a great guy when they meet up in person. He helps other owners install parts on their car (for free most likely). He's a veteran as well. :flag:

Must be my late middle age, but I have never heard of the guy. Well to be truthful, unless it is a video about F1/vintage/ GT4 racing or engine/race car building, I probably won't be watching it. However, I did click on this as I was curious (clickbait?) but he sat their for God knows how long and didn't say one word so I shut it off. He did look Iike he was crying but that wasn't enough to keep me hooked I guess, must be my ADD. :D

Sorry the guy wrecked his car as that is can be detrimental to your demeanor for sure. The video looked to be almost 30min; did he actually talk about an accident for 30min and people sit there and watch it? I guess I find it more implausible people can sit and watch a guy not say anything for 30min.

Must be the same people who watch the unboxing videos of HD Tvs? hahahaha!

Yes that! And thanks for the link.

I never got into texting while driving because even with nobody around, I felt like I would end up in a ditch. I also keep calls super short and I'm never mad when the wife sits in the passenger seat being a facebook badass on her phone while I just drive. I'm not afraid to admit my inability to kind of drive while doing other things. I love driving and I respect the privilege to be able to do so. It gets all my attention. Close to 15 years now no accidents with at least 10k miles a year driving. My insurance company loves all that extortion money lol.
