Heart breaking - new carpets turned up today, ready to be fitted.

But they can't. More water has come inside.

Losing the will to live here...i'l give them a call later to get some more details.

:frusty: :brokenheart: :(
if they can't seal a simple panel gap or weld it up it sounds like the panels are actually warped so not sealing properly or closing the gap enough to be welded in properly think its time you handed the car back and got a like for like replacement with your upgrade bits moved over free of charge.

Ahh I dunno what to do mate, I couldn't even get them to take the carpet out when I asked the first time...

I'm sort of glad in a way, with new water in there & carpets out, they should be able to diagnose a lot easier. But on the other hand, this week marks the 7th week the car has been with them, my confidence in their abilities is non existent & I'm sick with worry about the whole thing. Will see how the next few days pan out.

other option is take it to a specialist (mike?) get them to fix it and send invoice to ford themselves i'm sure remedial action you have to take to fix a manufacturing defect you can claim back off them.

Good idea, that is an option at this point.

That'll teach the ****s for leaving the boot open.

Jokes aside, I'd be very tempted to start the compo wheel for this, you're 2 months car-less now, with a car that seems to be getting worse and worse, and a dealership who frankly have the thinking capacity of a tree. Their easiest bet would be to just straight swap your car for another one with how much they've spent (labour wise) trying to fix it.

If it was the boot being open, I'll go fucking nuts.

Well, i'm not gunna stress myself with that now, I need to get away & try to relax before I start demanding this, that & the other. Just highly upsetting/frustrating to be in this scenario - I just want the car back on the driveway, free of issues.

Have you seen this thread Kristian?

Bits of foam blocking drainage holes...

So i finally got the car back today; here is what the dealer said. "Removed seats, all carpets, and trim moldings. Water tested and found water coming into the vehicle from a pillar into cabin. Found foam blocking rocker drain. Lowered dash bracket, make access and removed sound deadening foam blocking drainage ports. Everything ok now."
Really appreciate that John, funny because I had a bit of a theory this may have been the case - water in the pillar. Came after a conversation with one of the Euro guys, but I hadn't seen this particular thread.

I'll send this to them shortly & give them a call.

Could have been blocked with snow of course. Didn't you first have it after it snowed, and last week all the cars at Think had 4" of snow on them. doesn't excuse it but might be the reason they can't find it once the snow has gone.

Yep, i’ve maintained that the snow has somehow been the trigger in all this. Just now sure exactly what part it plays.

Just had a conversation with Charlotte on the service team, i think she’s equally pissed that this has come up on the day the carpets finally arrived. She’s keen to get this reaolved though and adamant that that new carpet won’t go in until they have retested a rediagnosed and are 100% sure they’ve got to the bottom of it.

I think thats my chance of seeing it before i leave the country on Friday out the window

Well, I'll be asking all these questions, and more when I get back.

Worst part is, I can't even remember what it feels like to drive *sad music plays in the background* it's been so long, actually when I drove it to Brighton the second week of Feb was the last time it got a good drive. Taking it down to the dealership doesn't really count - a gentle cruise in the wet/cold. Having serious withdrawal symptoms :headbonk:

Sorry to hear of your troubles with the car Kristian, I would give Mike a ring, maybe as he deals with S550s on a daily basis, might know the problem, or be able to offer you some advice.
Good Luck sorting out the problem, and sorry for all your stress

:frusty: for you !!

So I've just tried to book my car in for its first oil change, and I've been given a date 3 weeks in advance - is this usual and what I've got to look forward to in the future? I'm really shocked but then again I've never had to use a Ford dealer before.... snob that I am! I could understand it if I'd asked for a courtesy car but I'm happy to wait for it.
