OMG, very good point!! although my wifes mini is almost as sexy as my Stang so I wouldn't mind
Same mate. It's a 16 plate & great fun to drive. Some simularities to the Stang too; toggle switches, round daytime lights etc. 1.2 turbo 3 cylinder though so that's where it ends

Jesus... the cheapest place over here that does anything like that charges ÂŁ20... so for that sort of wash for ÂŁ6... I'd be there every weekend!
Best thing is it's on the same Business Park as our company  I leave it with them and they park it back for me. I have used them on my last few cars and never a problem.

her car is basically the reason i have a stang. it's physically impossible for her to order a new car and me sit by quietly and not buy one myself (3 times in a row now). however I spec'd it for her so she's got the 2.0 Cooper S with the JCW body kit :headbang:

like this one

can't say i mind driving that either :) basically a go-kart

Always worth a post from 'the other side';

1 bucket
1 sponge
1 wheel brush
1 hose
microfibre cloths

Wash it. Drive it.

6 monthly clay & polish.

Sorry guys... if I do all that stuff you guys do... the Mrs'll make me do her Mini!
NO Wheel Brush will scratch the wheels, little tiny micro scratches

I first jetwash and then just wash the wheels using a microfiber cloth and shampoo. I have a little routine to go around the wheel and get into all the crevices between the spokes.

Has anyone noticed that on the GT wheels the position of the valve is different between front and back. On the front the valve is inside a triangle and on the rear it is between the spokes?

I used to be in to concours shows with a well known German sports car and indeed won several times, I then got in to testing products for some companies etc etc and ended up with OCD cleaning. I simply cannot admit to how I used to clean and prep a car - it was insane. At the beginning of each season I spend about 16 hours doing a car which for the next year will never see a bucket or mitt etc. It's now Snow Foam followed by a product called optimum no rinse that means you never wipe a car with anything other than the lightest touch. Wheels and a few bits then job done. If I want to make it super shiny then top up the base with Zaino Z8 - it will then really shine ! I work on the basic rule that the more you touch it the more it swirls etc. I have now lost a lot of the OCD element and the Mustang when it arrives will just be clean and shiny. I can't go back to concours levels, never again........ But now I have said it I am not so sure.

Get yourself an inline hose water filter - it will then dry with no residue

Thinking of getting a leaf blower for it. Can dry the whole car with it! And also blow the drive clean
Spot on. I inherited a Still blower and after reading a Yank post gave it a try. Revalation car is c1 plus evo coated did have water spot probs had to buy some Kamikaze spot remover to sort that. Since then i fire up the blower and the best bit is it gets out all those annoying drops that always appear after you have dried it.

Not for everybody but if you have got one give it a go.

where do you get the Zaino Z8 from, its crazy dear, but have been told the best. I use Zaino shampoo, been advised not to use snow foam, as can take some of the wax away

I think it might be time to invest in a pressure washer and bucket before mine arrives after reading this! I've not washed my Saab in the 2 yrs I've owned it, preferring to let the rain wash the worst of the mud off. I suspect I will be a lot more fussy about keeping my first new car shiny scratch free.

Try Tim at cleanyourcar.com or .co.uk can't remember. But be warned you will want to buy many things !! If Zaino is out of stock then try Dodo Juice Red mist. Very good but tends to be a bit of a pig in warmer weather.

as to snow foam then it will not remove any wax so long as PH neutral. I use Bilt Hamber or Valet Pro. They are nearly all wax safe.
