I'm at over 800 miles now and most of that was driving it 600 miles back from delivery. I was driving yesterday and noticed from a stop to start, trans wanted to engage very quickly. I was at a stop and go in a drive thru and it sputtered a bit trying to finally go. It felt like trying to learn clutch/stick for the first time and being herky jerky. I was in track mode for my listening pleasure. Any ideas? Is this because DCT? Everything was fine once I got back to normal street driving.

I have noticed some oddities while creeping, parking or backing up, but I think it’s likely just DCT characteristics that I am not used to. I have never been in a DCT vehicle, let alone drive one. Agreed, it’s flawless when driving. I mostly notice a feeling that resembles the ebrake hanging up when creeping. I know it isn’t, as it rolls freely, it’s just what it ā€œfeelsā€ like.

I believe it takes a thousand miles or so for the cars learning to figure things out. No complaints honestly, just different.

Thanks! Agree on DCT driving. Never done myself also. I do like the sound the parking brake makes when turning off/on. lol. My drive thru order was wrong after all that too.

Very true. There were 8 cars in line and I almost went in, but parking is suspect there. Was in line for almost 20 minutes.

I have noticed that if you are stopped or going very slow in Drive, the clutches want to get the car moving. They are just dragging.
I found that if you pull back on both paddles (which disengages the clutches), all is smooth.
If sitting in a drive through, put it in neutral to reduce wear on the clutches.
If your normal instinct in a given situation would be to push the clutch in, then pull both paddles on a DCT.

I noticed the exact same thing while waiting in a Dutch Bros drive thru for an extended time period with the car in Sport mode. I was at about 250 miles when this occurred. I'm at 450 miles now and it has not happened since. I figured the DCT was in its learning stage and maybe does not like to sit for long periods on the brake while in drive and Sport mode. That was my theory anyway.

Thanks! That's very helpful. I will have to try both paddles.

And, as StangMode pointed out, as did Pheed Spenom, if you're in a roll race environment, simply holding the left paddle down will bring the DCT to the optimum gear for the RPM. I find that quite smart but I've been told it's been done by many other companies as well.
