I have a 3yo who insists on using the sill as a step to get into the back seat.

Has anyone found any decent products to protect the sill from scuffs?

There is a product made by 3M which goes by the name of helicopter tape. It is a clear glossy tough vinyl material. It is used on the leading edges of helicopter blades.

Until my kids were old enough and careful enough to get in and out of my cars without kicking or standing on sills, I have always ’helped’ them - which typically meant lifting them in and out when they were young :like:

They are both old enough now to do it themselves and they are both very respectful when it comes to feet on anything other than mats and hands not on paint or glass etc - they are both really good ‘car kids’ (now 6 and 11) :inlove:

Thought I was about to read “throwing them in the boot”

“You got fingerprints on the glass, in the boot you go til you’re 11”

Same problem here. I used to get reall bothered about it. Then I learned to just accept it’s going to last 10 yrs and get in with it. Let them trash it within reason. Let the dog sit on the back seat (on a blanket) etc. Sure it’s no longer a mint car, but it’s a more enjoyable car as we can use the thing now as a family.

You can say that again. The more you drive the Mustang, the better.
Luckily I don't have this problem, since my kids are now old enough not to cause any damage, but I have another one. We're five, and the car has just four seats. And there's no 3M tape to fix that. :frown:

Clear contact paper from grocery store works great and comes off very easily.
