  1. Insurance Increases ?

Just had a renewal notice from Aplan, or as they are now, Howdens and it's ÂŁ889......... but thats for the Mustang with mods, my Passat estate bluemotion and a new GR Yaris all fully comp with ÂŁ300 excess. I'm waiting for a breakdown on the cost of each car.. it looks like the Mustang could be...
  2. Can’t shift into Reverse

No, I didn’t think for a minute he was gonna strip has box, but he might be interested to see what’s inside it? I’m kinda sick of rude people on here.
  3. Can’t shift into Reverse

Just a thought. I recently stripped and rebuilt my Land Rover MT82. I made a video series about it.
  4. Can’t shift into Reverse

Just a thought, and the '18 plus guys will know better.. do those crappy aluminum shift forks bend? You see, when you change gear, the fork slides a ring with internal teeth over another ring with external teeth. When not running they all just slide around easy, but when running everything is...
  5. Can’t shift into Reverse

Does it go into the other gears OK, engine running Stationary? If Yes, then it could be something come loose on the selector, if not then its your clutch. Either way, the shop that did the clutch should at least take a look for you. I have a '17GT so it has steel selector forks, but it slips in...
  6. Can’t shift into Reverse

Just my 2 cents here.. When selecting first or reverse you are stationary, all the other gears you are not, unless you are saying you can get all the other gears stationary, engine running? Have you tried letting the pedal up a touch, say an inch or so and see what happens. I have seen issues...
  7. Ford Build Quality Strikes Again: 2024 Ford Mustang Caught With Mismatched Seats

The UK dealer network is also very poor. That POS Raptor I had suffered the huge loss of it's right hand side and rear flasher. Was it a fuse? Nope.. was it a relay? Nope... was it a dodgy connector? Nope.. it was a faulty loom and a body computer. Took the dealer 6 weeks to find the fault and...
  8. Aftermarket front ends

I'd like to ask a question.. Regarding GT350/500 front ends for '15-'17 GT, so that's 350 Hood, fenders and bumper and 500 hood and bumper. Which manufacturers /sellers are the ones to avoid? I see on Autotrader there is a '16 GT with GT350 fenders and bumper and the fit looks perfect. I have...
  9. Ford Build Quality Strikes Again: 2024 Ford Mustang Caught With Mismatched Seats

I thought it was only Ford EU that were crap? Never had an issue with my mustang mechanically, but had a new Fiesta ST that needed a new passenger seat frame, a Focus RS that needed a new cylinder head and a Ranger Raptor that had 5 recalls in 8 months.. total POS the lot of em.
  10. Flickering LED's

Thanks Mike. I wired them as per the instructions in the set from diode dynamics. So basically they are tapped into the existing side, flasher and DRL wires. I figured if the manufacturer tells you to do it a certain way, best go along with it. However.. things have changed.. it’s stopped doing...
  11. Prop shaft centre bearing… how much movement should there be?

In Landrover language we say prop shafts and half shafts.. As far as I'm concerned, in the UK a half shaft is inside a live axle, Driveshaft is as per our S550's.
  12. Insurance Increases ?

Yep, with mods too!! 60yrs young, Gloucester, Garaged, 2000 miles.
  13. Insurance Increases ?

I've been with A plan for the last two or three years. my first year was ÂŁ400, then when I told them I could get it cheaper it went down to ÂŁ300, this year it went down to about ÂŁ250 without me even haggling??
  14. Flickering LED's

Hi everyone. Last year I finally fitted my LED tri-bars into my headlights. I have noticed today that the left, N/S headlights tribars flicker randomly but only when the engine is running. I'm guessing its interference from something nearby, but just in case someone has had this issue and knows...
  15. Do we actually "need" an oil cooler??

Well, the OP solenoid is a Gen 3 only fitment and the Gen2 also has the BBQ tick??
  16. Do we actually "need" an oil cooler??

Oh no, what happened to your car? I can’t offer any more help until next year now as mine is off the road now for the winter. My car has never seen a wet road, let alone a gritted one!!
  17. Do we actually "need" an oil cooler??

Mon a twisty forest road the GR will be quicker no doubt, but there’s one statement that springs to mind when comparing the two.. there ain’t no substitute for cubes!! Yeah, it has 270 odd HP and it weighs nothing, but it doesn’t have that V8 grin factor!!
  18. Do we actually "need" an oil cooler??

brilliant work!! So, we now have two completely differing tests?? So, if your test is accurate and mine is bollocks, we don’t need a cooler for everyday use? I would be more trustworthy of stack over my cheap thing. mom not doing anything with mine atm. Too cold and damp plus I have a GR Yaris...
  19. Do we actually "need" an oil cooler??

Ill be interested to see if your findings are much different with a quality gauge fitted.
  20. Do we actually "need" an oil cooler??

Ok, just go to Demon Tweeks and buy a Stack gauge with sender. You will need an M16 to M10x1mm adapter. I would run the sender cable through the bulkhead where the sound tube goes and use the cigarette lighter for your power. Failing that just get a cooler kit fitted and forget it? I am totally...
