Awesome / thanks for putting that up!! I just d/ld it to Adobe for future reference.

Do you have any more avail Ford docs pertaining to the 15/16's, such as all of the most current TSB's? (wishful thinking - if so see my TSB thread in here) :)

OP, if Ford won't do anything...all the issues you posted can be adjusted yourself. Granted it will be time consuming though...

Yes.. I can pull everything a tech can at a dealer.. Let me know if there is nothing specific..

I do look at threads and see if there is anything pertinent to the issue.. if there is I will post it..

But if you want to know about anything just let me know..

Update. After a number of weeks waiting on approval from Ford, I got the phone call from the second dealers body shop that they got the approval. Gets dropped off next week to have both bumpers aligned and fit, the trunk lid fit and the hood fit properly. We'll see what happens. Update ASAP.

Any update on this one? Please advise.

I've got to say guys...I'm a long time Mustang guy...a fan since the Mustang was introduced when I was 8 years old.... I have a restored '65 fastback in my garage, and my daily driver is a 2005 GT with 53k miles on it. But the stories I'm reading about the poor production quality of the S550 are completely unacceptable, in 2016 for a $40k + car. This is pushing me to the local Honda dealership. The top of the line Accord isn't a Mustang, but at least it delivers top quality & reliability for the price. Overall, this deep into production, the S550 is pitiful. Ford had a good thing going since 2005, but they are blowing it...and this really pains me to say publicly. But call it like it is.

Seriously? An Accord lol? The Accord doesn't deliver "top quality" or "reliability", even consumer Reports has downgraded Honda/Acura to a below average reliability rating, and they have always been biased toward Japanese automakers. If you want a car that needs to have the transmission replaced every 75K miles, then maybe the Accord is for you

You are simply making statements based on unfounded rumors; a Honda Accord is nothing more than a mass produced appliance for people that don't give a shit about driving pleasure or performance.

Don't let the "issues" people post on here affect your decision to buy a Mustang, the "issues" are always blown out of proportion, and that goes for all car forums. People start to see issues that don't even exist based on a comment someone else made.

Go to your local Ford dealer and see for yourself. Inspect the built quality of the vehicle, the interior quality, and take it for a test drive. Make your own decision; don't do yourself the disservice of making a purchase decision based on people's opinions on the internet.

Got it back from the second body shop finally after another attemp at correcting it and I'm apparently at the shit out of luck phase with ford. Still have a number of issues. Closer in alignment on some. But still no where near acceptable.

Moral of the story is don't sign the damn paperwork until you're happy with the car. I was told my issues were being corrected as I was taking care of the paperwork. Now I'm stuck with a car I'm not happy with. Learning experience big time. Cuz ford service ain't gotta help worth a damn once they have your money.

Thanks for the prompt update. So sorry to read this. That's a heckuva lot of money on a car to be unhappy with. Unfortunately, yours is an all too familiar story. I know one guy who was fortunate enough to get one built that he is very satisfied with. After making great strides on improving quality, it appears that priority went out the door when CEO Alan Mulally retired. And that's a shame.

Don't let my negative experience steer you away from one entirely. There are some gems out there apparently that don't have any issues. There are also days when I get in mine and almost see past the issues to why I loved the car to begin with. Then I'm quickly reminded of the crap that drives me up a wall. But who knows there are obviously people out there happy with theirs.

now to deal with the metallic clank when shifting in and out of park each time....

Have to call BS on this one ! Our Accord was rock solid, even after being hit hard in the rear & repaired. Went to 150K without any repairs other than a fuel pump & routine maintenance. Had zero warranty issues as well. Was actually still looking & running good when we sold it, but I figured with that mileage stuff was going to start breaking at some point & the wife had to drive thru some rough areas of town to get to work.

Yes, it's mass produced, but so is everything from Ford with the exception of the GT which the vast majority of us cannot afford. It's not intended or marketed as a performance vehicle, so you can't fault it for not being that.

Net is - there is no excuse for the crappy fit & finish on these 'stangs. Go look at a cheap-assed basic Kia and the panels all line up perfectly. If it can be accomplished on a $15k, entry level car why can't Ford get it right on a $40K car  It's like they took a giant step back to the '70's. Clearly, Flat Rock assembly & QC needs their collective asses kicked or they need to slow the line down a tad ! Not sure what the issue is there, but someone at Ford needs to get it fixed.

I am lucky, and I did not even realize the severity of the issue; I didn't like how the deck panel was rubbing the paint off the bumper (noticeable upon opening the trunk) and the warped quarter panel black trim piece (which didn't look completely "tucked" under the panel) but the rest seemed so minor (or unnoticeable!) to me. My dealership's service manager and body shop were incredible. Apparently my car's butt was really jacked up, too (bumper, warped quarter panel trim, taillight, trunk) but my service manager really went to bat for me. :hail: He had the deck panel replaced first but noticed that did nothing to fix the problem. He sent Ford tons more pictures and kept me posted with updates on progress and Ford's shenanigans. :D One (slightly) amusing part of the process was my service manager and I observing two inspectors each thinking they found the problem before realizing there were actually several. It was weird to see one lifting the car's rear bumper and the alignment appearing slightly improved. In the end (literally) the car ended up with a replacement taillight and everything perfectly aligned. Ford paid the body shop $2111.00 and I had my car back in 2 days, and ahead of schedule. :)

I also had the interior door card on the passenger's side coming apart, so that needed replacement. Now I am waiting on my rattling resonator to be replaced. Waited 3 weeks for it but Ford didn't send the flanges, etc with it. My service manager is so over it he is having them cover a whole new exhaust, which is being installed this Wednesday. ;)

Ford has some serious QC problems not only in build but in individual parts inspection. We had a defective quarter panel trim piece arrive on one occasion, and a scratched door card sent - twice! :headbonk: Absolutely ridiculous. I am amazed my service manager has not completely lost his mind.

I have this, too!! Just developed. WTH is it??

Edit: Never mind, found it: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21016&page=15 :D
Yep trying to find a time to get it taken care of. On a first name basis with all the service writers at 2 dealerships at this point which is just sad in less than 6 months of ownership. Between the panel alignment issues, the bumper repaint, more alignment issues, a hood turn signal filling with water, a few rattles and shakes, and a handful of other problems it really isn't that amusing any more....
