Shelby Mach 1

So, I happened to be out in Las Vegas this week for a conference and was able to make time to visit the Shelby shop. In the parking lot in the very front parking space was a really interesting Mach 1 with a number of Shelby branded additions. Not sure if the car was an HP or not but it did have some HP elements while not having the extended front lip. Could not tell if it was auto or manual due to extremely dark window tint. It had a number of Shelby decals, wheels, a carbon fiber HP style wing, and Borla exhaust. The car was there for the couple of hours that I was at the facility and no one in the front area admitted to knowing who owned the car. Just thought it might be of interest. If you go to Las Vegas, I definitely recommend a visit to the Shelby facility and take the tour. Some truly legendary cars to see. J. Roberts, if you are on this site, nice car. Was great to see the Mach 1 represented.

Nevada plates, so I'm assuming the owner is a local. If you want to stand out in Vegas, you got to try a little harder.

Installed Jacking rails to facilitate future mods. i was able to use wood planks to allow the car to clear the regular ramp.

I was there last weekend and checked out that car. After the tour I asked and was told it was an employee’s car but as M1N already stated and he actually met him.
on their site there’s no “Shelby Mack 1” I’m a little surprised considering they did a gt350 version as well as still doing gt500’s

I think it’s because Shelby wasn’t involved in the original Mach 1

Technically not a "Shelby" but it is a Shelby modified car. Not sure if that counts for much in the long run but I'm sure there won't be many that got the official touch. Just thought it was interesting.

Yea I asked if they had a package for a Mach 1 and they said " Regarding packages for the Mach 1, currently we do not have any packages available for the Mach 1 and due to the next generation Mustang being released soon, I do not know if we will have any in the future either."

I know that they used that car for their product photos for their new racing and window decals.

I was there in 1998 for the Grand Opening, Took the Terlingua Racing Team Mustang I built. Got to park it inside on Friday night. Gary Patterson came up ta me & said would you like to park inside ? I said hell yes ! Got Carroll & Bill Neale to sign my dash the next morning. Carroll loved the car & offered me a job. The 2nd wife didn't want to live in sin city !

While talking to the staff on Friday, they said they are working through a bunch of 2021 and 2022 Mustang GTs that are still being converted. They are also working on F150s and have a 2024 Mustang in shop that was hidden for development work. They are also playing with some Mach E cars that were having some work done. After seeing what they do to convert a GT into a Shelby Super Snake, I must say I am impressed. I have seen a number of posts trying to compare the Shelby product to a basic bolt-on GT and they clearly don't understand how much goes into the cars. May still be a bit pricy, but a bolt-on GT will never hold the value of a Shelby branded car.

It's a shame that they didn't atleast attempt to Shelby-ize at least one Mach 1. Would have been interesting. There was one 04 Mach 1 that went through the Roush mod program, and there was even one 07 GT500 that Saleen did up, a local guy has it and it's referred to as a Sheleen.

Awesome shop! I visited last year and enjoyed talking with some of the staff.
