This is the first HG I have heard of publicly. All the other failures I know of have windowed the block. Given those failures I would have assumed that a massive detonation event would have tossed a rod before the gasket went. Who knows.

Was this on the spray or big turbo?

Highly doubt it was a head gasket.

Agreed.... find it strange the crank pulley walked. I know it happens but feels like some information is being left out of the explanation. Maybe I'm wrong?

I "think" what he means, Ford doesn't use a keyway any more for cam sprocket, crank nose and balancer , the ignition timing on these engines is off the nose, so "if" balancer bolt gets loose or there slippage with the sprockets then timing goes out of spec (there a procedure to set ignition and cam timing).

Dropped my eco off yesterday because of an excessive issue of smoke being released from the exhaust also could smell it form the vents!! There replacing some parts from what I was told.. .
