Hello,
I'm seriously considering the purchase of a 2017 GT350 with about 2500 miles on it. The Carfax looks good (1 owner, no accidents, etc.) but it does not show any record of being serviced. I suppose that it's possible that the owner did the maintenance themselves but I'm not sure. If it were serviced outside of the dealership, would it show up on the Carfax? It was purchased and sold back to the same dealer so I'd be kind of surprised if they didn't have it serviced there. All that being said, I'll ask the dealer if they have any service records.
I'm in no rush to buy a car but they come up so rarely near me I'm very tempted. Normally I wouldn't care so much at 2500 miles but these engines seem to be somewhat delicate so I would have preferred that the oil had been changed at least once in 3 years. What do you all think?

Ask for the previous owners info? Shouldn’t be hard to locate. The car is still under warranty, and it’s 2500 miles. Not much to worry about.

Ideally the oil should be changed at least once per year but I wouldn't really worry about it with synthetic oil. The car has most likely been babied, taken out on sunny days and to car shows with that few miles on it.

Sold and bought by the same dealer,,,if it was serviced by Ford, chances are it was there.

My question would be why did the dealer ‘buy’ it back? Was it a trade in? Was it related to something wrong w the vehicle? Something not showing up on the Carfax...

If they don’t come up much in your area and you’re serious about buying it, I would quickly exercise due diligence to jump on it if you think it’s a reasonable deal.

Good Luck :like:

Ask the Dealer to pull an Oasis report on the car. Should tell you all the service performed by ford dealers if any was done.
