No metallic sound or anything like that
That's where we differ. Also, the electric rack on mine is the very last to go out. Sometimes it doesn't.

In that case, I hope your resolution is quick and simple.

With your metallic noise, I half way doubt that your ABS is compliant with my well wishes. Regardless, hope it's just hub.

Installed a NEW battery last month
Beautiful November day today.
Went for a nice salt/snow free drive.
No problems with my Firestone Firehawks @ +2 degrees Celsius btw.

1000% the battery was the problem.

Apon further research, seems when the battery is dying, the PCM shuts down non-critical systems in order of importance ie: ABS & it's sub-systems like advance track first, power assist steering last.

Thank GOD I don't listen to the first guy who says "replace the rack".

Wow, it blows my mind how such a seemingly un-related thing could adversely affect another part of the system.

For me, my issue was a dirty MAF sensor. Once I hit it with some MAF sensor cleaner, my AdvanceTrac errors when away. Granted, I had the DTCs that indicated some type of MAF issue, I would never in a million years have thought that it would have anything to do with AdvanceTrac.

So glad you got yours figured out!

Wheel hub or speed sensor. Being you have an audible noise I'd say wheel hub. Lift it and wiggle the wheels. Should be pretty obvious which one is the culprit. If I was a betting man I'd guess drivers rear.
It was not, and I was wrong.
It was the LR wheel bearing.

Called it!
