Ok ive used the searched function and all i can get is cobb has more stuff to get the tune dialed in. I totally get that but no one ever says exactly what it has that the SCT doesnt. Any insight on this?

Cobb can be tuned to enable flat foot shifting (not sure if it's a device thing or if a tuner just hasn't done it for SCT).

Cobb can change tunes on the fly, while SCT you'll have to go through the process.

I have an SCT and I love it.

Flat foot shifting? Do you mean WOT shifting? What is the process for switching tunes with the SCT? And outside of that is there any other difference. I was reading that you can get better power out of the Cobb compared to the SCT.

I'm with SCT but I'll more than likely purchase a cobb before the end of November....

The different "modes" you can change on the fly is what interest me...

Say you are running 93 oct, you can switch on the fly to 87. There is a anti-theft mode, valet mode and you can build one that won't let the car go over "x mph". I could have used that a month ago.

What I'm not sure of is how many of these you can keep on the device for "instant" changes... sure I knew at one point, but I've forgotten.

I did not purchase the cobb since I did not want to carry it with me all the time (messing around with another device). But what I find is that I carry my sct anyway, just in case the car breaks down and I need to send it to a dealer for service.

I recommend searching the forum more and sending a Private message to: MAPerformance (cobb)

Unleashed (SCT) is great through.... you can't go wrong there.... dropped my 0-60 from 6.2 to a constant 5.3 with nothing more than a drop-in filter.

What is the procedure to switch tunes with the SCT compared to the Cobb. And my local tuner who puts out some of the fastest cars in the nation tunes with SCT. Trust me i want to go cobb but something about having the car tuned infront of you makes me feel alot better even though i know MAP does GREAT WORK. I dont know im a confused car owner at this point lol.

As a note, if you purchase cobb, it is one free tune for $500.

If you make changes to your car after, then you must purchase an e-tune.... looks like it is $250. http://www.maperformance.com/abrunson/tuninginformation.jpg

SCT, at least with unleashed, he looked at potential changes for me for free... and it was $400.00 total package.

Long as you know you won't make anymore changes, Cobb might be a good choice.

$500/$750 vs. $400...

Switch a tune with SCT takes about 10 minutes total time.

It sucks if you are in a hurry or on the hwy and pull up to a gas station that only has 87 and you have to flash to stock.

Yea, my 1st world problems!!!! lol

SCT tuner can also put a speed limiter, rev limiter, and version of launch control in with the settings.

Aside from the 5 switchable maps, I think the only thing Cobb offers is better marketing.

The Cobb and X4 are supported by some outstanding tuners here. Pick the one that suits you best. Torrie did amazing work with my car. When I got an AP I made sure the person buying my X4 would use him as a tuner. For the SCT, he's the best.

With the Cobb, I went with the best for the AP. My MAP tune, still not finished, feels spectacular. The AP interface is something I like over the X4. It doesn't hurt that Adam is amazing at his job.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either tuner. They are both awesome. If you are going to get a tune and set it and forget it, use X4. If you are like me and like RT data logging, get the Cobb.
