How many maps does the SCT have?
Does not work like that for SCT....

You flash it and that is it.

You can flash to another tune or back to stock but that takes 10 minutes...

Cobb has the five maps you can change instantly. SCT does not have that feature.

So sct can only have a stock tune and one other tune?

No... torrie (SCT/Unleashed) sent me a summer tune and a winter tune. Plus, I have the stock tune, and I have another "nameless" tune on there as well.

They all take 10 minutes to switch out.

If you are traveling and pull up to a gas station with plastic on all handles except 87, it will take you 10 min longer if you have SCT to switch back to stock (technically you don't have to switch but it is highly recommended, according to Torrie). With Cobb the change is instant... if you have 87 "tune" in one of your five maps.

The SCT like the Livernois tuner can hold multiple tunes. The only difference is that you have to spend 5-10 mins changing the tune whereas with the COBB tuner they are all already loaded to the car so u don't need to reflash it, you just switch tunes using the cruise control buttons. I can't see myself ever needing to do that but some ppl like it

I have ADHD so that might be a bad thing for me actually lol. I've been reading up on the livernoise but not too much info on it or power number besides their own testing. Have any more info?

This is the million dollar question that doesnt really have a direct answer. SCT is $400 with unlimited tunes as you mod and Cobb is $750 with unlimited tunes. Whats your budget? Will you notice a difference with either tune? Most likely not. Torrie and Adam are both awesome, excellent customer service and tune to perfection. I went with SCT at the time because of the price. If your local tuner uses SCT, that should answer your question, but there are more tuners that use Cobb. Either way your car will be transformed. :)

the tuners are about the same price wise. Only thing is every cobb tuner ive talked to charges for every custom tune after the original tune.

Drudis got his car dynoed with the new Livernois tune and saw a gain of 60whp. I can't remember TQ but it was a lot. Check out the Livernois subforum. LMS actually costs less than getting unlimited COBB custom tuning when u take into account the fact that it's $600 upfront instead of 750

I will admit that the Cobb tuner with the $250 e-tuning is quite expensive but it is worth it and it will most likely hold a better resale value then the other tuners tuning devices.

Ok ive used the searched function and all i can get is cobb has more stuff to get the tune dialed in. I totally get that but no one ever says exactly what it has that the SCT doesnt. Any insight on this?
I know you are asking about the difference between the SCT and COBB, we offer both, but have you looked into the nGauge? This is a great new option that we have with tuning by Lund Racing. We use this on both our GT and Ecoboost Mustangs. The nGauge and custom Lund tune is $549 shipped for stock or mildly modded cars (+$250.00 for cars with aftermarket power adders).

The nGauge is a touch screen device that you can keep mounted in the car for monitoring and data logging or you can simply flash the PCM and store it out of sight.

It holds "unlimited" tunes, and unlimited is in quotations only because the SD card size limits how many files can be stored. Also, because the nGauge uses SD cards for loading tunes (which you just drag and drop, btw), it is compatible with Windows and Mac.

It does flash similar to the SCT but it is MUCH faster, roughly 2 minutes vs the 5-10 min flash of the SCT. However, on the fly MAP changes is on the list of features coming in the future.

Also, tune updates are free and unlimited for bolt on mods!

If this seems like an option for you, let us know if you have any other questions!

Just to give you guys a little more info on the Accessport, here are a few things that we think make it stand out:

1) The Mustang EB Accessport is $500. It's designed to give you up to 6 gauges of real-time data that you can put right in front of you, and can start data-logging at the touch of a button. It has Off The Shelf (OTS) maps that are made based off of our two in-house Mustangs on our dyno, but Pro-tuners are of course allowed to charge as they see fit for their own recipe.

2) As others have pointed out, there are numerous software features you won't find on other devices like Flat Foot Shifting and switching between different Maps in real time (http://www.cobbtuning.com/accessport-features-for-ecoboost-vehicles/). The reason you won't find them elsewhere is because the software was developed in-house and is added when the Accessport installs - it's not something you can "turn on" in the ECU.

Finally, one of my favorite "features" is that we are constantly developing! At Cobb we are constantly looking to make our products better, and adding features to help our customers get the most out of their cars.

Hope that helps give you guys a little more information,
Andrew@COBB

SCT $399 = Unlimited tunes
Cobb $500 + $250 e-tunes = $750 unlimited tuned

Not sure $399 and $750 are about the same price wise.
