I no longer have a dog in the fight but this chorus to move the ZCP M3 out of FS is going to fall on deaf ears. It can't happen in 2020, and by 2021, there will other cars moved in. Better plan for the PP2 and possibly the 1LE coming to FS in the next year or so along with possibly the F80/F82 M3/M4. Times are a coming with faster, better FS cars.If I was still a member, I would write a letter pointing out that FS is the only Street class where one car got 100% of the trophies. The top car was faster than the supposedly faster BS class, and they should either bump it to BS or drop the "fast ponycars" from BS back to FS.
Budget? We got a nice bump in PAX for FS. We will see how I do in the 2020 season for the chicagoland events. It will by my first season with the chicago SCCA and TSSCC. I plan on getting some adjustable shocks/struts but unsure which ones i want to get. For the smaller clubs I run with I won't be using the mustang this year so i can save on tires.
Tire costs are an issue and we all have our own strategies... I do my own mounts, flips, and balances. Saves a lot of cash compared to relying on shops to do so. The extra flips and rotations cuts down on replacement rate significantly... especially when you get into the wear bars and no shop wants to touch em anymore. For the smaller clubs I run with I won't be using the mustang this year so i can save on tires.
meanwhile in flip it land (inside rear shown)That's a good idea. This is how my first set of tires wore in the front. I bet a lot of it was due to me learning and lots of driver induced understeer early in the season. Now that i have a decent alignment and am comfortable with the car I hope I can make it thru the whole season on one set of tires. The rears wore really well.

It hadn't occurred to me to try manual tire mounting/balancing on a setup the size of the Mustang's wheels/tires. Other than the pictured irons, mind sharing what tools you're using to get it done? Bubble balancer for the wheels?Tire costs are an issue and we all have our own strategies... I do my own mounts, flips, and balances. Saves a lot of cash compared to relying on shops to do so. The Mustang tires are easier than the tiny tires on an STS civic in my opinion. Watch like 100 YouTube videos on how to do this before giving it a shot. It’s not hard but it’s also not so intuitive.
It looks like I need about 3 hours to mount and balance 4 tires. I wouldn’t want to go much faster because anything stupid rips paint off the wheels. How long does it take you?
