Saving Mach 1 Chassis M1841

I purchased this recently through an insurance auction with the intent of putting it back together. Mostly cosmetic damage, appears someone ditched it. No structural damage and no blown air bags. One small dent in the right quarter, both bumper covers missing, all 4 wheels/tires damaged, oil cooler missing, cooling module missing, and exhaust tweaked. Found most of the parts already and should be back on the road soon.

2021 with Handling Pkg and 3 pedals. 8500 miles

I think I saw one of the GT500 guys list his stock exhaust in the classifieds. If it’s not there it’s in the GT500 section somewhere. Good luck fixing it up!

Its coming together quickly, found a Velocity Blue GT500 rear bumper cover locally that came off an 800 mile car with a front hit. All I had to do was pull off the white stripes and install. Found a new OE never installed front bumper assembly but in grey so I’ll have to paint it but it’s complete. Oil cooler and radiator condenser fan assembly installed. Ordered the Ford Performance Mach1 wheel kit which was about a 3rd of the cost buy the wheels individually. Put 4S’s on them instead of the Cup 2’s.

So down to a few odds and ends, need a strut which appears to be on back order unless I can find a used one. Will work on painting the bumper cover next while waiting for a strut.

I was in the forklift business all my life. Long forks and good operator and there will be no additional damage done at all.

Yes, was looking for a new project and these come up often I assume due to the Cup 2 tires. It was one of these or a 2014-15 Z28.

Not really an issue, that’s how all these cars get moved around. Forks are very long. I imagine the tow truck driver did more damage.

I’ve been under the car looking for issues and it looks clean, not even the heat shields are bent. Really surprised they totaled this car but I guess if they estimated out ever part that was remotely damaged at full dealership pricing it adds up fast.

Nice! Probably asking the obvious, but if you're comfortable sharing, I'd be interested to know what your grand total ends up coming out to in the end for the initial auction purchase + parts + how many hours you spent. For the latter, I'm sure it's a labor of love, but I'd just be curious.

I'm sure you're gonna come out way ahead compared to buying a similar car off of someone in today's market.
