I posted this in the "general" forums and it was suggested to post it here as well.

Ok, I think Ford missed an opportunity here. If I were an aftermarket supplier offering S650 stuff, I'd really consider appearance upgrades like this in my catalog.

My take as a plain ol' S550 GT owner:

I wouldn't run the side stripe so high, and now that I've looked at it longer I'd do 3D badges/emblems everywhere but the hood and I'd remove or rearrange the orange pinstripes on the splitters...but otherwise I think it's tasteful.

Doesn't fix the interior I know, but the exterior looks as good or better than most S650s I've seen in person.

That looks good because I like all the features they used from the 550 Mach 1.

Ford won't make the Mach 1 in the S650 because it would be faster than the Dark Horse. Just like it is faster than then GT350.

Looks pretty cool. Love the more aggressive styling treatment.

I read somewhere that Ford will not be going back to older sub-models like Mach 1, bullit, etc. We'll see though as the Shelby name is probably too irresistible for the marketing team.

Sidenote; One of my pet peeves is fake stuff like hood scoops.

Looks great in yellow

I thought some shakers are functional (or could be made to be functional)? I may be misinformed because I haven't done a deep dive into them.

The yellow is nice, but it really draws out my issue with the side stripe. I think it would be better down lower and more horizontal

I would be fine with that. Dark horse is cool but doesn’t have the Mach1 history. Make the Mach1 and market it as better than a DH it would be so easy and sell better too.

Highly doubtful that's true. Any limited production car with those names are money makers and always will be.

Not necessarily. The Ford Marketing team (as well as many brands) are working hard to capture new and younger audiences. That’s how the Mustang concept was born.

The people that appreciate sub models like Mach 1, Boss, etc (me included) are all getting old and dying out.

Notice how there’s a dark horse series and no FP350S?

Bro I'm 49. I maybe middle aged, but I'm not old and dying out. 🤣
