What I'm trying to get away from is the idea that the better application is determined by a race. It's determined by feel of teh engine and fun and enjoyment, not WOT. You can't WOT on a regular basis.
LOL just give up. Your exact statement was that the V6 wins a 0-30 and 5-45 and that is the reason it is more fun to drive around town when in reality purely based on numbers it is the exact opposite. I'd give the V6 the 30-60mph against an unmodded EB but there is just no way it beats it from a dig in anything less than the 1/4 mile.

You either prove it or accept the current facts. Otherwise you're just making stuff up. Just let this thread die

... Just let this thread die

It's a forum. It has no other use than just talking in these stupid threads. No body really has a definitive answer to all the imponderables. If you aren't interested in a thread, just pass it up. Just don't participate in the thread. I don't know what else to do on a forum other than discuss what I'm interested in. If another person is not interested, pass it by. If this thread dies, then the same or similar conversation just continues in another thread among those who are interested in the topic. That's all an on-line forum does. Shake it off.

he's right, you're not gonna win. unless you give up and just say that the ecoboost is the best engine available for the mustang.

In low throttle applications, like most regular driving, I found the V6 to be more enjoyable as it had the torque of a 3.7L engine in the low speeds. In spirited driving it's a cakewalk, and in terms of numbers would probably favor the EB, but I enjoyed the sound and character of the NA engine more. In a straight line 1/4 mi or 0-60 race, the EB will usually win.

so you wrote all of that to respond to my last sentence but can't dispute the actual point of my post?

V8 guys want to feel superior, v6 guys don't want to be considered weakest of the group and EB guys being in the middle get attacked from both sides. There are facts and then there are personal preferences. If you prefer one engine or trim over the other, then just buy it and be happy. I don't see any graphs, charts or time slips being posted here to actually provide information which is the point of this kind of forum

Alright, nobody get offended here but I legitimately don't know. This is my first car.

We all know the eco is faster off the line because of the torque difference. But since reviewers get the same times, how do all the factors play out? For instance the launch isn't from 0rpm, and the eco drops power at 5.5k.

I honestly don't care who's .1 seconds faster here I'm just trying to learn.

Anyone in lansing MI wanting to test that theory?
There are a couple Ecoboosts in Michigan. DEARBORN^ECOBOOST is someone that comes to mind, or just call out Livernois with their Ecoboost.

Haha, yeah I'm not wasting Livernois' time for this.
But any "regular Joe" that feels like heaving some fun - let me know.

I just checked, lapeer will be open in two weeks!!!

No. You were just the fall guy.

People do that all the time, where they're tired of the thread, or don't like the thread or the thread has been done before so they say "Go do a search" or "We've already covered that" or "it's been done to death." I hate that.

Then just pass on and don't participate in the thread if it isn't interesting. Don't tell me to go do a search. People don't have to shut up because MrMojo is not interested in the thread or has seen it before and doesn't like what someone else has to say.

It's a forum. It wasn't you. You were just in the right place at the wrong time.
