I'm going to give all an update on this story. I finally saw my neighbor one day in his driveway so I stopped intro'd myself, he looking a bit surprised and told him I had seen the Mach 1 and wanted to know about it. BTW in his garage was a shiny red Mustang SVT Cobra (2004 I think) with a whipple and drag radials on the back!! Turns out he's a specialty car dealer and one of his contacts told him about a older guy who had owned this 1969 Mach 1 from the day he bought it. He wanted to sell as he couldn't drive anymore and it was probably taking up space and hard to look at then. He bought it and it was in very good shape over all. He intended to keep this one for himself and had it in his garage all winter. When delivering a 1965 Caddy to a client the guy had heard he had a 1969 Mach 1 and was so over to buy it my neighbor said the money was probably even more than the car was worth and couldn't say no. Oh man!Right in my neighborhood...! If I could of found my neighbor I would of been all over him asking about it.
Just saw a Gt350R heritage at our local car meet. Its parked right next to one of the same owner's gt500 track packs. Beautiful car. Will snap a pic when i go back later if he is still there.One of the NASA instructors in my region competes in time attack with his GT350R Heritage. Makes me happy seeing that car being used as intended rather than sitting in a showroom somewhere.
