Guys

Posting from Australia. I collected my GT convertible in August.

Overall very please with the car but I would like to refine the suspension, by that I mean make the ride a little softer. I drive about 600 km per week, mostly on expressway and highway (so at speed) and find that a slightly softer ride would make the care even more enjoyable. I don't track the car, nor do I smoke the tyres, I'm more of a cruiser. Options I've identified so far include lowering the car so it corners better but no one yet has indicated a slightly softer ride (though one provider claimed his coilovers would deliver a Rolls Royce ride!). Am I seeking the impossible - slightly softer ride without diminishing handling?

Is this a car with the base suspension? (vs. a Perf Pack?)

I don't know how much more compliant - like you mentioned, _maybe_ a set of coilovers with some custom spec springs, soft settings.

^^^^^good question

You may want to consider Steeda adjustable dampers, and Steeda rear shock mounts.

Your choice of tire will make a big difference, as will unsprung weight.

Basically we need more details about the car.

All Australian cars are at PP specification.

Tyres are OEM but they will be due for change in about 3 months and so will go to tyres fitted to 2018 Mustang (research says they are good).

I have thought of new (lighter) wheels but carbons wheels are too expensive (even though made in Australia for Mustang).

Welcome to the forum my friend from down under. The only things I can think of is to lower the amount of air in your tires by maybe 2-4 pounds (US), or install a set of 18 inch (US) wheels and tires with a lower air pressure. The higher sidewalls of the 18" tires would soften your ride a bit. I'm not sure if either of these suggestions will get you the ride you're looking for though.

I will say that the lower air pressure in the tires will help with the bumps (ridges in the road, etc). I know this from experience with the ride of my C7 Corvette.

Are you referring to a completely stock suspension being a little stiff? Hard to imagine wanting a little softer if thats the case. Guess I’m way to use to a lifted superduty suspension.

Air pressure and sidewall height. I have a US non-PP edition 15 convertible and the suspension was entirely too floaty and soft for anything near triple digits so I swapped out to a Koni orange / Eiback Pro-Kit / Eiback Sway Bar setup and have LOVED it for daily driving. It's a terrific combo. But if rough roads, potholes, and the like are your normal, all I can think is what I listed above.
