So I laid under the back of the car today and took some photos. It is covered in salt along with the black sealant they've sprayed over everything.
Can anyone recommend a good way to wash the salt off? Since the actual parts are covered in the black spray I'm not too worried about rust, but still want to get it off there.

Then it looks like they use

Damn, they made a right mess of your car. Mine was less coverage. Guess I had a lazier savage that let rip on mine.
I just did it like it so spent days removing the crap.
Those spots aren’t necessary salt. Probably dried dirty water. Taste a spot if you want to be sure . Yes I know, it’s stupid, but that’s what I do.
If it is salt, a garden sprinkler is a good ,idea like said above.
Hahaha I did exactly that just to be sure, and yes it was definitely salt :puke:

Over the weekend I made a vinegar water mix in my pressurised garden sprayer which worked really well as it has an angled head on a longish wand so I could get right under the rear and past the diff, in behind the wheels etc

Then left it sit for a while and rinsed it all off with the garden hose, again with the spray head I have I could angle it under the back so it got all the areas I had sprayed with the vinegar.

You're right about some of the white spotting though, and there are stains on the exhaust which didn't wash off but I'm not too concerned with them.

Thanks Wimbrow - can I ask, if you had the choice would you happily spray salt all over the bottom of your car, or not?
In Aus we never salt the roads so to us our cars should never be covered in that crap.
It shouldn't be that hard as a pre-delivery step for Ford to run these over an undercarrige wash to clear it off.
Having said that, my car came with a thorough detail using the dirtiest rag the guy could find, smear marks inside and out, so I know I'm asking for a bit too much with the above. :)

That doesn't really get it off. I get under and have to scrub off all of the salt when I put the summer tires/rims back on and that's with weekly washes at the touchless wash that blasts the undercarriage.

That being said, 3 winters in and I have less rust than the pictures of mach 1s in the first post.

Not one mention in here over the 2021 F150s doing the same thing?

Fords been getting blasted with complaints for the laat few months the new 2021 F150s are all rusting underneath too.

All Im trying to point out is its not just the Mustang.

Didnt know that. I made the statement based on the dislike for the Mach e on this website.
But I guess more boring people would drive a appliance than would enjoy a real car so you’re probably right.

Didnt know that.
Mach E outsold Mustang in period of January - May because there weren't any Mustangs made in April and May... Funny fact, California got 1/5 of all of those Mach E's.
