Hi everyone, I just picked up a 2016 Mustang GT and I'm trying to decide on an exhaust system. I'm currently stuck between roush or corsa extremes, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.

My goal is to eventually add high-flow cats and catted headers, but for now, I'm looking for recommendations on a good exhaust system that will complement these future upgrades. What are your experiences with different exhaust systems for the Mustang GT, and which would you recommend for a deep, aggressive sound without too much drone ?

Also I don't mind raspy at all

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yikes.

Either would be fine for now (Roush is definitely the better deal for the money and sounds killer with an otherwise stock exhaust), but with headers later, I would be very concerned about total volume. FWIW I also have Corsa mufflers now (but the quiet ones, not the extreme).

Are you pulling the midpipe resonator out too?

If you get the roush and then regret it later after the headers, you'll be out less money.

Corsa sport. A little quieter than extremes now, but won’t be overly loud with headers.

Power is in the headers and cats so replacing the resonator and catback is just noise. If noise is what you're after get great but I beg of you, get something that doesn't have Race or Extreme in the title.

My car made almost 800HP with the stock resonator and catback.

I was just going to buy the roush cat back system which i think comes the muffles and a x pipe that was all i was going to buy so that its a simple swap and doesnt require any cutting or ect... and im looking to take my time upgrading the car almost like a journey so i want to get the perfect exhuast that will support the build overall

Do you think i should go with roush over corsa extremes because honestly i dont want the car way to loud when i add headers and i do plan to keep my cats or gett high flow cats and catted headers

I have a 16 GT with Roush AB's paired with a steeda x pipe. I think it sounds great. A little "raspy" and some drone but it's not bad at all. I also think being a "hotrod" kinda car I expect it to have those sounds. Lol

It's race red. Sorry I don't but they never really sound like they do in videos. If that makes sense. Lol. However there's a bunch of them on YouTube to checkout.

Extremes are way too loud and don't sound that great IMO. Adding headers to that will make you rip your eardrums out.

AWE Touring with long tubes sounds dynamite (catted or catless)

I'd skip paying all that money for no power and invest in long tube headers. That's where the power is at and it'll make the car more raspy.

The Roush with an X-pipe is really loud IMHO. With stock resonator its loud, but nice.

The stock resonator is a little heavy, but its a straight through design and not restrictive.
