I recently purchased a 2018 GT with Kooks long tune headers and Kooks high flow converters with X-Pipe and stock cans (non-active). I hate the sound. It is obnoxiously loud at start up. Sounds like there is metal rattling around in the mufflers for the first minute or so then it calms down. It is also too loud while driving (in my opinion) and its a bad loud. Some loud exhausts sound sweet - this is not one of them. I've read numerous forum posts, looked at hundreds of videos and have thoroughly confused my ignorant mind. I had settled on the Borla cat-back touring system with H-pipe as a candidate but was told by Borla that they don't offer that system for my year (WTF?!?). Then I leaned towards the Borla Sport but those only come with an X-pipe. Some have said that Stainless Works is a better system, just a little louder. I'm looking for a deep rumble instead of a painful scream. I know with the Coyote platform it's a reach but I'm still dreaming. I also had a guy at a custom shop tell me for $7k+ he could fabricate a custom system with resonators that I would be happy with. One, $7k is ridiculous. Two, how can you make a guarantee on a subjective preference? Didn't trust him. Coming to the brain trust to direct me towards some references or research I can do to make this decision.
