I have Roush phase 2 supercharger on a 2020 GT and the heat soak is bad here in Central Florida. I was think of changing the HE to the department of boost super single with bigger lines and larger pump or the VMP triple pass. Has anyone tried this or have any experience with this problem? Was also looking at the Harrops spacers, anyone tried these? Thanks for any help as I’m new to the supercharger game.

This is a good question. I’m a bit stumped myself because it doesn’t make sense. Yes the intercooler brick is too small but why is my mct 140 deg during steady state cruise when the bypass is open and the supercharger isn’t building any boost?

The LTR appears to have cast in mounts for a fan, but the mct doesn’t cool off at 75 mph so I suspect a fan won’t help much.

So where’s all the heat coming from? If it’s coming from the head or valley then the spacers and a belly blanket might help.

E85 will help with the heat soak? My tuner says it will have no effect except for more power and safe from knock.
Interchiller will fix the heat soak. Not sure if any other cooling Mod will make a large change in IAT2s. Before interchiller install. I would see in the summer 120+ at highway speeds. Now never above 87.

E85 would make the heat soak moot.

With a pd blower the main reason for an intercooler, by far, is to reduce knock. E85 basically doesn’t knock. There is a pumping loss difference as well but it’s not much. Intercooling DOES NOT change the air flow appreciably.

The problem. Finding a tuner that won't pull timing at high IAT2s even on E85.

I thought E85 also helped keeping the engine cooler. also, what is heat soak exactly?

But I hear that it effects the cabin ac which is really important here in Florida.

I never had it explained like that. So it is worth the cost of larger injectors and return fuel system?

E85? You don’t always need a new fuel system. I’m running e85 on a Roush setup without so much as a boost a pump. I know you guys are hamstrung by your tuners though….

Once again. Good luck finding a tuner that will tune E85 FI setup without a return system.... I do see old post that some popular tuners did tune without a fuel sys in 2018. Was this change to sell parts or safety?

Thr only way is to spray it with water methanol at the intake. Don't tune it for water meth, but use the benefits of water meth on your tune that your running. It will keep the engine cool and add hp/ torque. Ran Sebring in June with 700hp and it ran cool and like a freight train.
