Has anyone here added the VMPP heat exchanger to a Roush stage 1 SC on a 2018 or 2019 Mustang? Feeling heat soak on 90* days. Not a big deal because I’m in N.H. and it’s normally not that hot, but worth the $800 if it makes a big difference.

I'm currently in the middle of doing it. My IAT2 temps were averaging 40-45 degrees above ambient while cruising at 65 mph. I'm installing the VMP triple pass and a Pierberg CWA 100 pump, and a Velosa Tech Big Mouth, with distilled water and water wetter. I'll post my results when I get them. I hope to lower the temps by about 15-20 degrees. Then I might possibly go with a water methanol injection kit.

I don’t think they are a direct bolt up on the 18+ yet. Like chainsaw said it will need some modifications.

I just talked to Roush and adding the VMP triple pass inter-cooler does not void there warranty so that’s a plus:)

You can install it per VMP's instructions, but you'll use a lot of hose. I modified mine to use about the same amount of hose that is in the Roush kit. Adding hose will slow down the flow a bit. I wanted to keep the flow as high as possible.

Sorry this has taken so long. I'm 63 years old, and we just went through a heat wave. I don't work on the car unless the heat is 85° or less and not too humid. I hope to have some results by Saturday, or Sunday.

I pick mine up today. My speedshop that did my SC said that the vmp triple pass is awesome. They thought that 170 degree therm might void the warranty. Did you ask about that?

Well the results are not that good. 85° ambient temp @ 65 MPH I'm getting 115° to 120°.So I'm seeing about 10° lower temps. The faster you cruise the more the temp drops. Put the pedal to the metal and the temps go up quickly. Did a 40 to 120 pull temp went up to 138°. :crying: Next mod phenolic spacers between the heads and the intake manifold. Lowering motor mounts for hood clearance. I haven't given up the fight yet. :punch:

Here's what I've done so far.

1. VMP Triple pass H/E.
2 Pierburg CWA 100 I/C pump.
3 Distilled water and Water Wetter.
4. Velosa Tech. Big Mouth.
5. Custom Car Grills Pre-cut grille inserts.
6. Plastic cowl panel and rubber seal removed.
7. Mishimoto 3 core radiator.
8. Reische 170° Thermostat.

Isn’t the goal to stay under 140 as far as timing goes? If so your not doing bad at 138 after a hard pull.

How are you reading IAT temps?

If the pull were from a dig it would most likely be in the 140's or higher.

I found this information in another thread. Thank you Roh92cp

Things that have made a significant reduction in IAT2 have been.

1. MFP phenolic spacer aprox. 25-30 degree reduction in IAT2. This product blew me away and was the last thing I did to my setup.MFP-Phenolic-Spacers-for-11-Coyote-Mustang-GT-and-F150

2. My closed airbox front feed snorkel setup. Huge difference in low speed driving stop and go and idling. Not as much when throttle is open WOT.

3. Bigger HE/IC and flow rate (large pump) lowers IAT2 somewhat, but moreover stabilizes the temps so they just don't move a lot after this. Sheer amount of fluid transfer overpowers the engine and supercharged air heat.

4. Hood vents and open front grill.
