Only time is was annoying is when the rpm dropped down below 1200 in 6th gear around town and the engine would lug. I hate how the trans shifts so fast that it is in 6th gear before I even get to 50mph.
If I use the paddles and kept the rpm up over 2k it sounds great. No drone at 70mph either. Couldn't even tell exhaust was on car. But when you hit the go pedal it would scare people.

Does anyone have a sound clip of a Roush axle back with H/X pipe and Dynomax race bullets? I am curious how much it quiets it down. According to Dynomax, the race bullets cut 4 db off. Wonder how much of a difference that is compared to just putting the resonator back on?

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered the Mishimoto H-Pipe which seems to be tamer than others, though it's really hard to tell from youtube clips. If I was going to install it myself, I would probably just install the H-pipe and then put the resonator back in place if it proved to be too loud, but since I'm having a shop do it, I'm paying every time the car goes on the lift, so...:frusty:

SO I pulled the trigger and had an H-pipe put on and took off my resonator. The cold start is a bit louder and it's generally a little bit louder but you can still cruise around a neighborhood easily and be quiet. However, step on the throttle and you'll see the big difference. It's quite a bit louder if you decide to punch it. Overall, I love the sound. I'm very happy with my purchase and don't a real changing any time soon. I also got to hear an X-pipe on a similar setup and am very glad I didn't go that route. You can really hear the "muscle car" versus "race car" sound difference between the h and the X.

Thank you all for your input! I'd upload a sound clip but it would just be another cell phone clip and it really truly doesn't reflect how it genuinely sounds.

Missed the memo- did you already have the Roush A/B as well before you added the H-pipe or are you using stock mufflers with H-pipe?

I was like you. Had the Roush AB and wanted a little more after hearing some nice sounding cars at cars and coffee. Got to listen to and X pipe with it and wasn't totally convinced. Decided to buy the H knowing it's usually a little deeper. Installed it and loved it!

I did this as well - 100% agree with what you said. The H-pipe is the way to go :headbang:

Awesome thanks! I think I'm sold!
Plus, the Mishimoto H-Pipe is already on the way, so I think I'm going to roll the dice and have it installed. :headbang:
A guy on youtube recently went the same route on his GT (I think he's in the UK, RHD FTW!):
Roush A/B first, which he really liked, then later on added the Mishimoto H-pipe; he has before/after videos up for each install.

Some say this Roush exhaust with the h pipe drones and others say it doesn't. I love the sound but if it drones I won't buy it. Will anyone with this set up please give me your input ?
Thanks

I would strongly consider getting the Borla resonator (H pipe design internally) if you just want a modest increase in volume and don't want to go full racecar.

I have the Roush with CJ's H pipe and have zero drone. I think the biggest issue is peoples definition of "drone". Will you hear the exhaust inside the car, yes but at lower RPM's it can become tame. My only issue with it so far is the cold starts. :eyebulge:

Mitsumoto H-Pipe just arrived last night...box had a hole in it but all appeared to be in perfect condition when I opened. Will post a picture or two later on :) I know it's just a piece of steel piping that no one but your mechanic will ever see, but it sure is perty! :)

Well I define drone as something that is at such a pitch that it feels like its reverberating in the cabin and is bothersome. I could hear my MBRP street in my ecoboost but it was definitely not a drone, just a low tone
