When people tailgate me like that I slow down.

I do the same. If I'm in the left lane I move to the right if I see a driver coming fast on me to avoid a tailgating situation. If I'm in the right lane and someone's tailgating, I just wait until they pass me, which they inevitably due. I rarely drive in the left lane unless I have to. Too many crazy people on the roads now.

Nobody should be in the left lane unless they are traveling faster than anyone else. I don't care if someone if going 90mph in the passing lane. If I wish to travel faster than them, then please just move over. Glad you have proper driving manners

It's because you live in Detroit, lol. No offense intended because I love Detroit and have been many times. But the drivers there (and the roads for that matter) are some of the worst I've ever seen.

I'd rather someone who gets that heated at Detroit drivers not have ready access to a firearm.

I've driven in Detroit (and Chicago) and it's like the Indy 500 with potholes and Cadillacs. Actually, as others have mentioned-the other drivers most likely drive like that all the time. The OP was the one who was driving like a jerk (in their minds).

Dispute it if you like - and I’m sure that you will.
I’m also sure that you are a good person and that you truly care about your family and only mean well.
But there is no question in my mind that if you looked at the issue rationally and objectively you would find out that you’re absolutely wrong and that you’re creating a greater danger than you’re protecting yourself against by keeping guns in your home unless you are living in truly rare and exceptional circumstances. Rare and exceptional as in you have a reasonable belief in being the target of individuals with the means and motive to grievously harm you or members of your family due to, say, your involvement in law enforcement or previous association with violent individuals.
Your country, your state, your home, so I’ll leave it there except to say that I post this with some sadness because I greatly admire the U.S., its people, and all their many accomplishments, and that I always enjoy travelling in the States whatever part I may be visiting, red, blue, or paisley.

Knowing how to use a gun effectively and having a plan if you intend to pull it out are two important steps many skip (sweeping your house is stupid), so I'm not really surprised statistics aren't super favorable. I agree with others in here though, I'd prefer to have the choice to defend myself the best way I can. And I say that as a Canadian, lmao. Even Canada has some sketchy ass areas. Walk around Brampton with no gun for a while and let me know how naked you feel

Rare and exceptional happens more then often .Better to be prepared! Few months back my little sister that happens to have ccw . That is in a womans gun club and both my nephews that are 12 and 8 years old that also shoot and trained and in a youth gun club. She unfortunately had a home invasion, dude was hi on pcp and meth broke in her house in the mid morning ,her husband was at work , just her and her youngest son, the intruder Literally ripped the door off the hinges trying to get into the house chased her with her own hammer out of the garage threatening to kill her, she was able to safely put her son in his room ,gave the guy a few warning shots ,he continued to chase her with the hammer ,then he threw it at her , while he barely missed. she then shot the fucker 3 times all in the legs and Pelvic area.To "stop" him not kill him .She showed control, because she was trained and prepared and her son is fine because he is raised around guns and learnd at a young age Responsibility. She and my nephew Are alive and would have been victims for sure if not for having guns.Not everyone in California is against guns thank goodness and no ware is safe. Be prepared and responsible, and if you are weak minded and
Feel Suicidal,reach out for help and let someone Responsible handle and watch that weapon.

I live in SE MI, and we do have horrible drivers in this area.

Unfortunately, we also have a LOT of highway shootings, so it's best to just disengage completely. I always assume the asshole next to me is an unhinged loon with a gun in his lap.

There is a special place in hell for tailgaters. It is the one thing pisses me off more than anything, well next to rock trucks. Number two is the people that like to ride in your blind spot and people that go slow in the fast lane, as well as the people coming on from an on ramp at 30 MPH. Come to think about it, a lot of things irritate me when driving.
