Reverse Sensing

If you have BLIS, you have sensors....that is how it works. When you are backing out of your driveway, the cross trafic alert system is functioning. When you are driving down the road, the BLIS system is functioning. They are part of the same package. The fact that you haven't noticed that you have sensors shows just how much of a "no big deal" it is visually.

Maybe this is true from the 2017s:shrug: but my 2016 has BLIS (part of 401a) and I separately optioned reverse sensing and damn well paid extra for it. BLIS and reverse sensing sound different BTW. BLIS is a constant blip and reverse sensing gets faster and you get closer until it reaches a steady tone.

So if Ford included reverse sensing in 401a in 2017 I am gonna look for my money back on the option from my 2016 addle:

Yep, reverse sensing doesn't give you the cross traffic alert, that is included with the BLIS.

Until now, I didn't realize they were separated out. I have both. Reverse sensing is nice when backing into parking spots and garages. Cross traffic alert is amazing for backing out of blind parking spaces. BLIS is nice, but I always look before I merge, so while it's helpful, I don't rely on it regularly.

I wish BLIS was an option by itself and I would have for sure gotten it but I didn't need an hd radio or a sub.

I wish Ford would do individual options too.
I imagine they bundle them for price & assembly
reasons. Get better pricing on parts & easy for
assembly workers to not screw up.

My 2017 base GT came with the reverse sensing feature. Package 300A.

Back up cameras are federally mandated as of MY2018. My 2016 Base GT has sensors and camera, and I don't think you can get a Mustang without them.

Incorrect. The reverse sensors are an option on 2016 GT base. I have a base GT PP and it is listed as an option

My order sheet has no reverse sensing. It is a separate option and I got a pretty loaded GT Premium.

Saved my ass a few times from running over the neighbors pet, at night when I didn't see a tree stump, a kid that was riding a big wheel, midget walking by and yes it is useful.

It's nice, but the camera by itself is probably good enough. If anything, I'd like sensors on the front bumper.

I agree, I wish there was a forward facing cam or sensors, especially on a car that sits so low and has such a long hood.

I have both reverse sensing and BLIS. They are both well worth it IMO. The cross-traffic alert with BLIS is a must-have for backing out of spots, especially when surrounded by Truck and SUV's. I wish the front of the vehicle had cross traffic alerting as well, sometimes it's rough puling out of spots, the hood is 5 foot into the road before I can even see it. Also as SnoopisTDi mentioned above forward sensing would help save our front spoilers from parking blocks and curbs.

The sensors are worthless for someone like me with a hearing loss. The camera is good enough.
