Thank you TxOilMoney, spreadsheet updated.
OMG. I’m tired of this reply. It’s freaking 2018. So if we don’t check our oil at every fuel fill up or torque a freaking filter to an exact spec we![]()
How many people neglected to check their engine oil or how many filters were not tightened?
The world will never know!![]()
I just checked my oil after a track event and 1800 miles of driving from new. Dipstick says it’s time to add a quart. Just a data point. I also have the frpp oil separators and there is no significant oil accumulated fwiw. No other issues on this 2017 GT350R fwiw.OMG. I’m tired of this reply. It’s freaking 2018. Have to worry about our engine blowing up. Cmon. Damn. I love this car but again. Cmon man. If any racing series had to check their oil as often as we do they wouldn’t finish a race. This is a freaking street Car. SHIT!!!! just admit it, this Is a BS SITUATION. Burning oil at Completely inconsistent rates and a horrible oil filter design is not the consumers problem. Along with the
A/c issues, bumper gap and front clip fitmit issues it seems Ford didnt think of
Quality ALONG with performance with this car. Simple as that. Based on what I have been offered for trade in on my R lately, I would say the market is well aware of the issues. So enough of the check oil/oil filter crap.
I think checking the oil and tqing to spec is reasonable.OMG. I’m tired of this reply. It’s freaking 2018. So if we don’t check our oil at every fuel fill up or torque a freaking filter to an exact spec we

Yeah i like how people like to blame it on the drivers, like you wouldn’t notice 4 quarts of fucking oil in your parking spot. I’m sure a few folks did let it run low, most wouldn’t expect to add 10qts between 5k oil changes...and it be considered normal. I’m sure there have been a few money shifts too.OMG. I don't think anyone is blaming the drivers we are human we make mistakes. If we are talking engine failures it's part of the equation. I still cant tell how much oil is the the damn car.Yeah i like how people like to blame it on the drivers, like you wouldn’t notice 4 quarts of fucking oil in your parking spot. Just wait til these cars get up there in miles, many for sale only have a few hundred miles on them...mine waited til 6k to start drankin
Lol - you took that a little the wrong way...and you are putting words in my mouth.OMG. I’m tired of this reply. It’s freaking 2018. So if we don’t check our oil at every fuel fill up or torque a freaking filter to an exact spec we

I'm going to reply as if you aren't trolling. Not sure why.So if i a buy a $60k GT350, I gotta check the oil after every gas station stop like i had to do with my $500 Corolla with 279k miles on it when i was 16?
No, every other fill-up is fine unless you get a lot better gas mileage than I do. :cheers:So if i a buy a $60k GT350, I gotta check the oil after every gas station stop like i had to do with my $500 Corolla with 279k miles on it when i was 16?
You have me as tlisotta. I could not update the XLS so here are some details:Ok..here is the link to the spreadsheet file. There are two Tabs at the bottom, one for A/C issues and one for engine failures/replacement. I will slowly add more info from other forums and possible another tab just for oil consumption.
I only added member info to the spreadsheet if they actually had the problem. I did not include "I heard 5 motors blown at so and so"...these are NOT included.
I assume info on the forums are public. If any member wishes to be omitted from the spreadsheet, please PM me.
If owners with blown engines would also report their engine builders and vehicle build date, I will add that info into the spreadsheet. Not blaming the builders, but trying to create a comprehensive spreedsheet with as much info as possible. These are the data I'm trying to gather:
Vehicle Build date
Engine Builders
Mileage when motor issue occurred
Nature of issue
Resolution provided by Ford

There was a guy locally that lost his engine from low oil pressure, it had 24,000 miles on itThe bit I find interesting is that only one reported failure happened at over 10k miles. Admittedly it's a tiny sample but seems to suggest that if you have a "bad" engine it's gonna show very early in life, and the higher in miles you go without a problem the safer you are.
