I just drained my radiator as I had to change the thermostat and I have the R splitter on mine. I just removed the passenger side inner fender liner and was able to access the drain on the bottom passenger side of the radiator and used a hose off it to a bucket. I took down the back part of the belly pan to access it to clean up what came out when I put the thermostat in too. I usually have to take the back part of the belly pan down when I change oil too as I always seem to spill oil and have to clean it up. Hopefully this helps, seperating the belly pan from the fascia/splitter would be a pain would just be easier to pull the full facia as others have mentioned.

Yep, not sure what I was thinking, no easy way to remove it…

…I’m gonna blame the margaritas, man do they have some good tequila down there 😬

I just recently went through all this... It was SOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier to just pay the dealer to do it lol. They used a vac to suck it all out, and force it all through the cooling system. It flushed ALL the coolant out... not just a drain and fill, no filling with distilled water to flush it 3x, no removing the bumper or belly pan.... WAYYYYY worth the cost to have them do it for you

Meh, but what’s the fun in that?? And clearly you don’t have a professionally diagnosed medical condition (anxiety) that prohibits you from letting anyone else work on your car, hahhahaha! ;)

OK, clearly I was joking about the diagnosed condition, but the thought of anyone else working on my car does make me want to hyperventilate

I just don't trust a dealer to do anything.

I'm about to install a properly nice permanent drain solution on my car. Stay tuned, I'll start another thread on it. Waiting on some parts and time to get to it.

All that is still a pain in the ass and I have yet to find a funnel that makes it completely mess free. And apparently you completely skipped over the whole first paragraph of that thread, LOL! ;)

OP:
Nice write up and thanks for providing another avenue for an easier coolant fluid change.

I just don't trust a dealer to do anything.
I see the above statement all the time on here …. So don’t take my response as a reply to you, it’s just a general response…:)

No one trusts a Dealership but everyone trusts:
- vendors that Ford contracts to supply mechanical parts
- the source of where and whomever put together the electrical boards and modules in the vehicle
- people who assemble the engines
- the Ford employees on the Ford assembly line that assemble the vehicle

LOL!

A problem can arise anywhere, Ford Dealer Tech or not. There’s quite a few of damn good Ford Techs on this very site - so “not trusting a dealer to do anything” isn’t good for those who have excelled in their career and rely on us (the owners of XYZ Ford) for a Job.

Apples and oranges. And no, I wouldn’t say anyone “trusts” them either, but, I don’t take my vehicle (now that I own/possess it) directly to any of those people for service. I can’t control what they do. They are no longer in the loop where trust is an issue. By the time I have my vehicle, it’s after the fact. Yes, still annoying when parts break, but that’s not a trust issue. With the dealership, now it’s before the fact. Now I’m relying on them to provide a service I’m in need of on something I now own. They do a half ass job, they don’t care if they get oil and fingerprints all over the place, and yes, sometimes they’re downright incompetent, run the shit out of your car on a test drive, how much can I go on?

This comes from my experience with my local dealer's not just Ford but Suzuki, VW, Hyundai, Mazda, Honda. Maybe it's me but me and my family have bought cars from dealer's and had issues that should not happen and so we don't go back.
