Looking for the correct removal instructions for the rear belly pan. Do not want to ruin the ten push/pull pins trying to get them out. Is there a proper sequence is involved? Best removal tools to be used? Suggestions, and/or possible problems experienced. Is there a specific torque spec for the four bolts when put back in place? Thanks for your feedback. Morphy

I can't find the bolts torque specs in the manual... I think they failed to give that to me or I just do not see it... but to be honest just hand tight is probably enough. Those two bolts attach to a plastic bracket that probably doesn't even call for any torque. It would likely crack. Archetype Racing actually makes a replacement for that part because it's a way better part and prevents bumper sag. You'll have two bolts that attach near the diff. There are a total of 4 bolts.

I've not taken off the rear, just the front, but since it isn't a structural element, "tight enough" is what I would do on the bolts. For the pins like on the left in NoXide's picture, a flat head screwdriver or trim tool to pull the middle part up, then the whole thing pops out easily. Don't try to pry the whole thing out at once, that will ruin it. For the other "Christmas tree" type just use a trim tool to pull the whole thing out.

I agree, slowly try to pull it out but worst case is you go to autozone for some new heavy duty christmas tree push pins

Thanks, NoXiDe for the reference picture. I did not know that there were two types of push pins used. I'll take my time in the removal process trying not to damage the pins but especially the belly pan itself. As for the bolts, I'll agree with tight but not overdo it. I'm in the process of installing a fourth LED brake/backup light and also the two rear diffusers reflectors with LED lights. And of course, the belly pan must come off for easier access. Any suggestions on those Mods. Thanks, Morphy

Thanks, Chip G. Appreciate your input. I'll take my time and try not to force each pushpin. I realize that Ford is trying to save weight/cost using these plastic push pins, but they could have used a better attachment method to assist in an easier DIY removal process. Oh well, it is what is!
