I'm in the camp of cover on. But, it can be dressed up. I like the idea of body color painting a part of it.. it would make it line up a little better. It also does appear pretty 'messy' with it not on. That changes when a blower is added though.. then it's more interesting! But stock form I'll likely do something like 1 old racer did.

A little trivia.... what was the last year Ford applied Blue to a mustang engine & what year did ford stop apply paint to any engine?

I believe you may have made a wrong turn, sir. Allow me to redirect you to the proper forum: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum. Enjoy!
Thanks, but I have been a member there for 10 Years. I know Rob who is the owner.

I am a car guy that has interests outside of a Mustang. Nonetheless, My first car was a Mustang. I've road raced a 1965 and owned a bunch of them. I have always owned at least two Mustangs. That number will be three very soon so the brand is #1 for me.

Last year for blue engine paint on Mustangs was 1981. I don’t know exactly when they gave up all engine paint after that, but the two 1987 model Ford and Mercury cars I previously owned both came with unpainted engine blocks so I guess that narrows it down to a five year range?

Just a little touch of color may help, instead of removing it.........

I didn't take a photo when I had mine off to install the "catch can" and "sound delete tube", but to me it looked unfinished and no frills plain.

I would recommend that you go ahead and take it off for a in your face look. It's not a difficult task to undertake. Remove 4 nuts and pull, and your done.

Quick question - would you know if the JLT 3.0 "passenger side" catch can for the 2017 models also fits the MY18? On the JLT site they have different part no.s but in the pictures they look the same.

Cheers,

Jim
