Looks nice, don't it. Here's mine, also from JLT.

Sucks that as of January 4, 2019 they stopped taking orders for painted engine parts.

My shop confirmed that if I switch to a 2018 manifold on my 17, I won't be able to use my sexy cover from JLT. I'm not so sure I want to switch to the 2018 manifold anymore...

I think the cover looks better than without....
Pretty busy plumbing under there and looks refined with it in my opinion. Not as nice as earlier s550’s though

Looks better without it in my opinion. Though I'm contently looking for ways to clean it up a little, so thanks for the tip regarding removing the oil filler neck!

Looks like a nightmare with it off, and it no doubt helps reduce some of that unflattering engine noise we get in the new 5.0s .How many times do you open your hood and honestly care about staring at your engine? I think I've cracked mine open 3 times during my length of ownership.

Probably helps a little bit. For me though looks are fairly important and I like to show my car off at various events. There's no harm in wanting your engine bay looking good and I wouldn't be the first or last person either. I've had the hood up 30+ times since I got the car 6 months ago and as this car is my new project car, to span the next few years, I'll be working in the engine bay for years to come and will likely be showing the work off for many years after.

The worst is that oil fill-up pipe that stands out when the cover is removed on the 18s, looks really out of place.
You can twist the oil filler neck out and put the cap straight onto where you disconnected it, similar to the 17 apparently.

Does it actually DO anything other than ..well what does it do actually? My hood is wrapped and i wondered if it added a bit of heat protection to maybe help keep the wrap from ever bubbling or getting too hot. I doubt it but i wondered. I also wondered if it actually HELD heat in the engine bay worse as it is just more clutter in the area (was making me want to remove it till i wondered if it might be ill advised with my wrapped hood)...

I'd say the hood liner probably does far more for heat shielding than the plastic trim does. I don't imagjne, with the hood liner in place, you're likely have have any issues with your wrap.

That's Hardly a fair example in your Photo. Eye candy for sure... but not what it looks like under the hood of a stock 5.0 sans engine cover

Sorry, I didn't realise there were rules to this :frown:. I was just showing what it can look like without the engine cover on that's all.

Took mine off to install a catch can and do some other minor work last weekend. I hate the big plastic cover too but until I boost it, it's gonna stay on. There's such a mess of wires, hoses and connectors under there it just doesn't look much better with it off on the 18+ cars. Here's what it looks like dead stock, no cover...

Considering the Bullit does not even come with it I would think it is a non issue.
