FL-500S or FL-820S. I prefer the FL-500S myself.

Contemplating this for the Spring oil change, I began studying options a short time ago.

Above is a thread listing several you may want to study further.

I'm leaning towards the Ford Performance filter, below, which is rated to capture more, finer material.

At least early on, I wanted to continue to use Ford products.
Good info, I was wondering if the 820 would fit in there. I'm always concerned that there is some interference issue I can't see. My F150 takes the 500 by the book too. Thanks.

That is a good question and a point for anyone to consider.

The 820 is a bigger filter, which makes me want to confirm it fits in a Mach 1.

And unfortunately...other members are confirming the FL820 will NOT fit in a Mach 1. Dang.

I'll probably fall back on the 500.

The CM-6731-FL820 is definalty a good option, i have personal experience with the filter and the nice thing is you can actually get them by a case of 12 which sometimes just makes live's easier to have them because they do tend to go on backorder from time to time. Also can always split a case with other local friends which is what i do because you usually pay less per filter when getting the full case.

Also to put it in perspective i run amsoil 5w-50 in the car and have never had any issues at all and these filters offer up to 50% more filtering capacity than standard OEM filters.

One more vote for the Motorcraft FL500S. Partially my love for the Motorcraft logo 🫠
