Recommend Katzkin Leather?

I've got a 19 PP1/A10 and got the base with cloth seats. I went to my local Katzkin dealer, had the kit designed the way I wanted with perforations and solid color for the whole seat. Got the front and rear seats plus front doors for $700, and the installation was $700. It took a whole day and this dealer had almost a dozen cars getting leather seats. I'm in my 70's and wasn't about to do the job myself, because I did in my 14 TrackPak, and I swore I'd never do it again.

stupid question - how do you find your local Katzkin dealer? When I put my zip in the form I get 2 entries but no business name, no phone, nothing except (3 miles from your zip) which isn't helpful.

Must be some kind of "feature" of the website. I usually get the same phone number despite state zip code selected, with a few exceptions.

It's probably a generic customer service center and will put you in touch with one of their installers. May not want you contacting the shop directly to ensure consistency of pricing and expectations.

Also, it could be if the shop doesn't want their phone number listed on the Katzkin website, it defaults to the Katzkin number.

I'll probably have to contact Katzkin directly on this, but if I wonder if I can just replace my current OEM leather for Katzkin, but also retain the OEM heated/cooling functions. I'm really not a fan of the OEM leather quality.

I actually got it off the Katzkin web site. There is a place on their web page that you click on to find dealers near you.

I believe that's Katzkin's own product, which adds the feature to previously non-heated/cooled seats.

I may have had to contact Katzkin although I'm not sure because the dealer also had TMI products as well as Katzkin and did installation of both.

The one nice thing about having it installed by a dealer, is that I got a 3 year or 36000 mile guarantee, and I love the leather smell!

I once put a set of katzkins leathers in a truck I had that came with factory heated seats and the heating element is just a pad that lays on the seat foam under the leather or cloth cover. I don't know how the cooling function is setup but the heat is just a pad.

I don't know what Katzkin's major malfunction is but in any event, if you're in NoVA it's CarSpa or SureFit, both in Arlington. Otherwise Rockville has something.
