The only way to find the break is to cut open the outer black conduit (carefully) to expose all of the wires within it. Usually the break occurs at the bend, but can't say that is the only possible location for a break in the wiring.I just put in a new powered sub in my 17 GT. I opened up the harness to get to the speaker wires and now mine doesn't work. Been doing a lot of research and it looks like the problem is in the bend where the wires usually snap. Do I need to cut the whole harness open or is there a common place where the wires come apart. I'm out of Warranty.
The problem with the earlier models isn't so much the bend it's the fact that the harness was also short where it didn't have enough length to properly bend from the opening/closing of the trunk lid. So the wires would break beyond the bend too.
