I know that the rear suspension has had a few quarks since it went independent. This one that I hadn't seen anything on any forums, so I figured I'd bring it up. I've noticed that the left rear wheel appears to be cambered in a little. Both rear wheels are actually, however the left rear on more so. I would understand this if the car was lowered, but it's not. When I had dropped the car off at the dealer to have the convertible top fix, I brought this up to the service writer, and his response was that it's like that from the factory. In essence saying that Ford made it this way on purpose. A rear suspension that has uneven camber, doesn't seem like something a manufacturer would do on purpose. Anyone else seeing this?

Note: Car has wheel spacers that were installed 2 weeks ago. However this was noticed on day one, which was December. So they have nothing to do with the issue.

Alignment isn't usually something that is warrantied from Ford. The rear camber can be adjusted but it isn't as intuitive as most cars so many dealers don't even know it can be adjusted.
Some info here.

Thanks for that information. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person. So if I took this to the dealer, or any other alignment shop, would they know what to do?

Depends on the shop.

The dealer should know, as they have access to the factory procedures which list how to adjust camber in the rear, but I've been let down by the dealership service dept on a few occasions.

Anyway, the camber IS adjustable in the rear, and if your's looks off to the naked eye, it may truly be off. Also the rear subframe isn't always centered perfectly under the fenders, so sometimes what looks like inconsistent camber is actually a subframe thats slightly to the side.

An alignment shop can easily confirm if the camber is actually different back there. Let them know that 1) the rear camber is adjusted via a slotted bolt (with no markings), and 2) that the attachment point is pretty far up in there and a competent shop should be able to figure it out.

Typical alignment specs (Ford is no different) allows an acceptable range. In your case, both sides could be within that range. But consider this. One is cambered in and the other cambered out but within range per side. However, when compared to each other, the difference is out of range.

Learn to read and adjust camber and toe (caster is more complicated). Simple tools or you can get pricy. I started with a level and measuring tape for camber; two measuring tapes for toe. Lots of conversion tech on the net. Now I have the correct tools but you don't need them.
