After having a CFTP without the back seat (which is pretty much useless), I was going to order my '22 HP Mach 1 with the seat delete option. Curious on how many else here did. THoughts on resale without? I wouldn't do the delete on a base car; but, I figure more HP owners are more likely to track it. PS, I also ordered the Recaros too. Same reasons.

I would prefer to do the delete, but I have a 5yo and cannot have him and the wife in the car if I did the delete. this is a forever car though, so resale is not a concern.

I ordered rear seat delete

For resale purposes, there will be some people looking for that option

Depends on your use case. If racing a lot and weight reduction helps, do it. If not, I wouldn't. Personally I have heartburn with a $250 charge to delete something, but I'm a chiseler.
Not sure on resale, but I would think not a problem either way. I think if it had a seat and someone wanted it out, it can be removed very quickly. You get is a felt covered molded piece that probably could be duplicated or one located if desired. Someone may be able to get the pieces from a used parts dealer if desired in the future.

I wanted it but it would have delayed my order and based on how things turned out, my car wouldn’t have left the plant before the first shutdown last year so I’m glad I didn’t. I will add it hopefully soon. Would be great if there was a kit that allowed you to remove the belts and not have the warning light on the dash

Never understood the purpose of the RSD besides looking cool. If I had to guess based on removing the rear seats from my 2018, both backs and the bottom weigh maybe 40 lbs total. So subtract the weight of the RSD panel and would you really notice a 30-ish lb weight reduction? Plus you can't fold down the seat for more trunk room with the RSD.

The people that are looking at weight reduction, don’t care about trunk room, although if you go aftermarket there are options that allow for the back panel to fold down to use the whole back seat too.

Thanks for all the responses. Everyone of you is right. If I had kids like Jimmy Dean, absolutely, I'd get the rear seat. Definitely a need for it there. Fishtales, you're right. It sticks in my craw that I'm paying Ford to leave out the seat! Should be a credit! But, as MikePol2 said "it looks cool!" Couldn't agree more! I guess my wallet is $250 lighter!

I have to imagine its quite a bit louder without the rear seats. If you're on the track, who cares, but a DD? All in all it seemed like paying money for something that would make the car worse. I figure if you get the RSD you better be at the point where you are putting a cage back there anyways.

I purchased the RSD. Didn't think about resale. I wanted something unique, track-inspired, performance-oriented as much as possible for the model. Got the Recaros as well. I'd love to have a radio delete option, no Sync screen, manual windows, etc. Not everyone's cup of tea. Car will not be a DD.

I used to autocross a Camaro with the rear seat deleted, sound deadening removed and every bit of gray area extra weight removing including stereo, speakers, air bags, etc. Yes, you could tell a difference on course, but it isn't worth it for a dual purpose car. Other items were left in because of rules. If weight reduction is that big of a concern you're ditching all the seats and installing one or two lightweight racing seats up front and other items. I'm guessing the only place it would make sense is if someone is competing in a very restricted class there it has to be a factory option for weight reduction to remove the seats. In that case why delete rear seats on a 700A?
